Outbound Gets Free Wildlife Update With Camera And Tracking
The update is the starting point of a seasonal roadmap that Sega and Square Glade Games will use to keep adding survival content, so the game's shelf life now depends on a steady drip of free additions rather than a single launch.

Sega announced the free Wildlife Update for Outbound, the cozy survival game from Square Glade Games, is out now on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch. It adds a customizable camera, a photo library, wildlife tracking that records photographed animals in the journal, usable binoculars, new wooden foundations, a tweak to fishing controls, and a Cap 'n Snap machine with charms and planters.
The Wildlife Update is available now as a free download for Outbound on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch. A camera blueprint can be downloaded from a new outpost in the first biome, and photos taken with it are saved to a library. When a shot properly captures an animal, the journal records that animal as collected. Binoculars already in the game can be looked through, and once a camera is crafted they can also take photos.
Wooden foundations arrive with no blueprint needed. Fishing controls now display only when the player is stationary. A Cap 'n Snap machine offers two charms for the rearview mirror and two planters shaped like wildlife. Sega said further updates will follow seasonally.
