Sega released "Hiro - Essential Works" on Spotify and Apple Music on September 25, the third volume of its playlist project centered on the company's creators. Sega has published the second feature deep-dive video for Football Manager 27, titled "Into a Deeper World of Football," and opened store pages on Steam, Epic Games Store, and Windows. Sports Interactive moves the series past the Tiles & Cards layout that Football Manager 26 used: tiles now only display information, while navigation runs through primary and secondary menus at the top of the screen, so clicking Team goes straight to the top team's player list instead of requiring a second click on Top Team. Many information items, including player career stats, fill the screen rather than a narrow tile. Cup draws and transfer deadline day return, news gains season previews and title-race coverage, and the next screen after Continue is now chosen at random, with that frequency adjustable in the options.

Sega implemented an update for PSO2 New Genesis ver.2 on September 23, 2026, adding the limited-time quest The Laughing Remnant of Wisdom in the Otherworld. The quest runs from September 23 at 12:00 until maintenance begins on September 30. It is a solo quest where the player fights one-on-one against Oruta Noetika, a character who appeared in the story quest The Tower Where the Shadow Sits. An ARKS Record for the quest runs at the same time, and Title Tasks and limited-time Tasks were added with rewards including Titles. Meseta Boost does not apply to this quest. Sega also changed part of the route for the limited-time quest Ice Phantom Sweep Battle on September 23, introducing new situations and combat gimmicks. The new AC Scratch, Blazing Martial '26, runs from September 23 at 12:00 until maintenance begins on October 21. It offers costumes inspired by martial arts and kenpo styles, the motion change Ride a Rappy, a new version of the Wushu Pose lobby action, and the Hand on Hip motion. Count bonuses give 10 N-Special Ability Transfer Pass Auxiliary Tickets at 12 pulls and the weapon camo *Lotos Rune at 80 pulls.

Sega published details on 17 characters in STRANGER THAN HEAVEN on September 24, 2026, the company's new RGG Studio title for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The roster includes protagonist Shin Daito, played by Yu Shirota, alongside Yu Mashiro, a stowaway aboard the same ghost ship who aims for Japan and is played by Dean Fujioka. Genzo Iwaki, the great boss of Wu, is played by Bunta Sugawara with Tsuyoshi Ukaji on voice. Keiko Shirai, described in the materials as a songstress in wartime Osaka, is played by Ado. Screenshots accompanied the character information. The game is scheduled to release on January 15, 2027. Sega is adding Shuichi Akai and Bourbon to its XrossLink figure line for Detective Conan. Both are crane game prize items, releasing sequentially from October 9, 2026 at amusement facilities nationwide. The Akai figure stands about 17 centimeters with a dedicated base; the crouching Bourbon figure stands about 12 centimeters. Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog series reached its 35th anniversary in 2026, and general producer Takashi Iizuka discussed the milestone in interviews at Tokyo Game Show 2026 with 4Gamer and Denfaminicogamer. Iizuka, who became series producer in 2010 and moved to the United States in 2016, said unifying the role followed years in which each title had its own director and its own image of the character. He named Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sonic Adventure, and Sonic Frontiers as the most memorable projects of his run. No new Sonic game was announced at the show. The Sega booth instead featured Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, whose Season 2 adds Godzilla and Evangelion collaborations, and the indie-developed online puzzle game SONIC PICO PARK. Iizuka said new game development can run from three to five years.

Dragami Games, NADA HOLDINGS, and JP UNIVERSE showed the first footage of Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Back2Back during the Lollipop Chainsaw NEW PROJECT stage at Tokyo Game Show 2026 on September 18. The sequel brings back cheerleader zombie hunter Juliet, who returns after about 13 years in a new, more covered outfit, with her boyfriend Nick still a severed head. Sega presented the Japan map for Crazy Taxi: World Tour during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 stream on Thursday. The Japan map footage shows drifting toward a building marked with the SEGA name and a passenger who resembles a sumo wrestler, according to Denfaminicogamer. Crazy Taxi: World Tour will launch in 2027 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store. Sega's Steam page states that the company uses generative AI as a support tool for developers and that such tools were used during development of Crazy Taxi: World Tour, with no AI used in reference to the performers in the game. Netflix announced on Monday that it is collaborating with Sega to create adaptations of its games, including a live-action film based on the Crazy Taxi series.

Sega has announced that Daisuke Shiba of the comedy duo Mogurider will appear in STRANGER THAN HEAVEN, the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC action-adventure game due January 15, 2027. He plays a character who turns up in the final part of the story and becomes acquainted with the protagonist. Executive Director Masayoshi Yokoyama said Shiba's hairstyle decided the casting.
