Platz Sets December 2026 Shipment for Two Kestrels and Zero Fighter Kits

Platz will ship two aircraft assembly kits in December 2026: a 1/72 F/A-18E Super Hornet carrying VFA-137 Kestrels 2025 CAG markings, and a 1/48 Mitsubishi A6M2b Zero Fighter Model 21 in Tainan Naval Air Group livery. The Super Hornet kit is about 253mm long and costs 5,940 yen; the Zero Fighter uses Eduard-made parts, measures about 190mm, and costs 6,380 yen.

Both kits are scheduled for December 2026, and both ship with Japanese-language instructions produced by Platz. The Super Hornet builds the single-seat F/A-18E at roughly 253mm overall length, with the full-color tail art of the Kestrels' 2025 CAG aircraft carried on large-format decals, plus cockpit interior, landing gear detail, and a set of underwing missiles and other armaments.

The Zero Fighter is the early A6M2b Model 21 at 1/48 scale, about 190mm long, and is built from Eduard-made parts. Panel lines and wing surface texture are modeled, the Sakae engine at the nose reproduces cylinders and rods, and the cockpit extends to the floor, side walls, seat, and instrument panel. The canopy can be built open or closed. Decals cover the Tainan Naval Air Group's Hokokugo and aircraft of the Kanoya Naval Air Group fighter unit, and the builder picks one.
