Why it matters
The franchise's story moved past the Pole Dance Japan Cup for this one, placing a rival group's invitation and an unknown visitor at the center of a theatrical release rather than another competition arc.
Key Facts
- Pole Princess!!: Croix du Nord screens in six theaters in Japan for two weeks starting January 29.
- The new CG anime runs 60 minutes and includes a pole dance show.
- Luchika Hiyori is the new character, designed by tomari.
- Hitomi Ezoe directs and Toko Machida writes the screenplay, with animation production at Tatsunoko Production.
- The story takes place after the Pole Dance Japan Cup.
The 60-minute film includes a pole dance show and a new character designed by tomari, Luchika Hiyori. Rio Tsuchiya, Anna Suzuki, Yui Ogura, Minami Hinata, Yoshino Nanjo, Rina Hidaka, Saori Hayami, and Rie Kugimiya return, with Hitomi Ezoe directing and Toko Machida writing.
The setting is the shift. The earlier film built its story around the Pole Dance Japan Cup, with Hinano Hoshikita and the Galaxy Princesses facing the four-time champion team Aile d'Ange. Croix du Nord starts after that competition: Aile d'Ange phones the Galaxy Princesses with an offer to appear as guests at an event they are hosting, the group accepts, and a mysterious girl later turns up at Azumi Studio.
Most of the production team carries over from the earlier anime. Hitomi Ezoe directs, Toko Machida handles screenplays, Yoshihiro Otobe is CG director, tomari returns on original character designs, Kotono Sakurai adapts them for animation, and KAORI of STUDIO TRANSFORM supervises the pole dancing. Avex Film Labels distributes.
