Rideon Japan Announces Mercenaries Grace, 8th Mercenaries Saga Entry, For November

Rideon Japan Announces Mercenaries Grace, 8th Mercenaries Saga Entry, For November

Rideon Japan announced Mercenaries Grace: Black Feathers and the Golden Right Arm on September 25. The tactical SRPG is the eighth Mercenaries Saga title and is scheduled for release around November on PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. It replaces the series' traditional turn order with a one-move alternating system, adds eight Ladder Classes, and introduces a gauge-fueled move called Soul Exceed.

The Mercenaries Saga series has kept a traditional turn order since 2007, with all player units acting before all enemy units. Mercenaries Grace breaks that. Each side moves one squad at a time, so the old habit of repositioning the whole party before committing no longer holds, and every move carries the risk of an immediate counterattack.

Classes change too. Units move through eight broad Ladder Classes that cross warrior and thief lines, and can shift sideways rather than only up the direct path. A combat gauge fills during attacks and defenses, feeding the Soul Exceed special move.
