Yuu Minamoto published a new one-shot for her manga Samurai Harem: Asu no Yoichi in the ninth issue of Akita Shoten's Young Champion Retsu magazine on Tuesday. Titled "Asu no Yoichi! 2026 ~Egao no Riyū~," the one-shot celebrates 20 years since the manga launched. The original series ran from May 2006 to February 2011 and inspired a 2009 anime.
The one-shot appears in Young Champion Retsu, not in Monthly Shōnen Champion, where Minamoto originally serialized the series from May 2006 to February 2011. Akita Shoten published 15 compiled volumes, and Tokyopop released eight in North America. The manga inspired a 2009 television anime, which Section23 Films and Sentai Filmworks released as Samurai Harem.
Minamoto has stayed active since the series ended. She has worked on Haru Polish with Bamboo Blade writer Masahiro Totsuka, Haken no Ninja Akabane, and Kasen Kōshu Yawa. Her current manga, Watashi-tachi wa Kakechigatteiru, has been running since October 2024.
