Shield Hero Season 4 Leads A Week Of Anime And Manga Releases
A single date carrying four figures of new print product across more than a dozen publishers is the retail reality of the category now: the weekly release sheet, not the convention stage, is where most Japanese comics actually reach North American readers.
Reporting from 1 source: Anime News Network.
North American anime and manga releases for October 11-17 include the first Blu-ray volume of The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4 from Crunchyroll at US$74.98, Sentai Filmworks' Non Non Biyori Blu-ray at US$89.98, and AnimEigo's Master of Martial Hearts Blu-ray at US$24.95, all dated October 13. The print manga side adds new volumes from Viz Media, Seven Seas, Kodansha USA, Square Enix Manga, Yen Press, J-Novel Club, Vertical, Alien Books, Titan, and Kana, among them Chainsaw Man volume 22, Case Closed volume 100, and first volumes of Badducks, GalaXic Baseball League, and Are You a Landmine, Chihara-san?.
October 13 is the shared street date for this week's North American anime and manga shipments, and the anime side is thin: three Blu-ray items from Crunchyroll, Sentai Filmworks, and AnimEigo. The print side is where the volume sits. Over fifty manga volumes and box sets arrive the same day, spread across Viz Media, Seven Seas, Kodansha USA, Square Enix Manga, Yen Press, J-Novel Club, Vertical, Alien Books, Titan, and Kana.
The spread is the story. Long-running series reach numbered milestones alongside brand-new first volumes from smaller imprints, all competing for the same shelf space on the same Tuesday.
