Sound System Rhythm Game Hits Steam Early Access on November 4

Bonus Stage Publishing announced on October 1 that Sound System, a rock rhythm game from Echo Foundry Interactive, enters early access on November 4 for PC via Steam. It supports guitar, bass, and vocal parts and works with major guitar controllers, keyboards, and gamepads. Classic Mode has no fail state; Pro Mode ends a run after 11 misses. Four difficulty levels are included.

The early access build covers solo play and local multiplayer for up to three players, with free choice of instrument lineup. Classic Mode drops the fail state and judges more leniently, while Pro Mode rates each note and ends the run after 11 misses. At the top difficulty, Legendary, all five frets are in play and charting assumes hammer-ons, pull-offs, tapping, and up and down strokes.

Chart importing from Clone Hero and YARG is planned alongside the built-in PulseMap editor, which lets players build charts for their own compositions. Online multiplayer, additional instrument parts, a content store, and XP and Skill Rating progression are slated for later in development. Official release is expected to take about six months.
