Pokemon Tales: Negigaknight and Pichu's Adventure to Stream on Disney+ in 2027
Disney+ will stream the new Pokemon stop-motion animation series Pokemon Tales: Negigaknight and Pichu's Adventure starting in 2027, following a global distribution agreement between Disney and The Pokemon Company International. The announcement was made at the Pokemon XP event in San Francisco on August 28, 2026, which runs alongside the Pokemon World Championships 2026. The series is produced by Aardman, the UK studio known for Wallace and Gromit and Shaun the Sheep, which has won four Academy Awards. Set in the Galar region from Pokemon Sword and Shield, the story follows Negigaknight and Pichu on an adventure to protect the Pokemon living there, depicting friendship and bonds through troubles and encounters with rivals. Aardman describes the series as portraying the world from the Pokemon's perspective, using the studio's signature character expression, comedy, and handmade charm. The collaboration was first announced in December 2024, with the title and teaser revealed in July 2025 during Pokemon Presents. At the event, Phil Rinda of The Pokemon Company International and Tom Parkinson from Aardman appeared on stage, alongside other production staff.
