A 30th anniversary screening event for After War Gundam X ran on September 27 at TOHO Cinemas Ikebukuro in Tokyo. Across two talk sessions, lead voice actor Wataru Takagi hosted director Shinji Takamatsu, character designer Shigeyoshi Nishimura, and mechanical designer Junya Ishigaki. Four episodes from a six-episode shortlist were screened. The 30th anniversary key visual, released September 25, was also discussed.
The TV anime adaptation of En Mikami's antique book mystery novel Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techo will begin broadcasting in April 2027, the official team announced on October 3. The first main PV, character visuals for Shioriko Shinokawa and Daisuke Goura, and four additional cast members were released: Reo Koyama as Fumika Shinokawa, Wataru Takagi as Shida, Yohei Azakami as Kikuya Kasai, and Saeko Kamijo as Nao Kosuge.
The Dengeki Bunko Fall Festival Online 2026 hosted the first full promotional video for the television anime of En Mikami's Antiquarian Bookshop Biblia's Case Files novels. The video names Reo Osanai as Ayaka Shinokawa, Wataru Takagi as Shida, Yōhei Azakami as Kikuya Kasai and Saeko Kamijō as Nao Kosuga, plus staff including assistant director Kento Matsui, and gives an April 2027 premiere.
Dwango will stream the first real live performance by MECHATU-A, an eight-member male unit from the VTuber group Nijisanji, on Niconico Live Broadcasting on October 10, 2026. The event, titled "MECHATU-A 1st LIVE "Over Drive!"", takes place at K Arena Yokohama with a 16:30 open and 18:00 start. Main stream viewing tickets cost 6,500 yen before fees, and a version with an acrylic diorama bonus costs 10,500 yen. The unit will perform songs from its first mini album "On-Deck!", released in July 2026. Fans who cannot attend the venue can watch the opening portion free. A pre-show broadcast at 16:45 and a fastest impressions broadcast after the live are also planned, and both will stream on Niconico.
ANYCOLOR will start selling Nijisanji "Standard Goods Vol.9" from 18:00 on Friday, September 25, 2026 on the Nijisanji Official Store. The lineup covers eight Livers: Saiki Ittetsu, Akagi Wen, Usami Rito, Hihachi Mana, Hoshirube Sho, Murakumo Kagetsu, Koyanagi Rou, and Inami Rai of MECHATU-A. Two product types are offered: an acrylic stand at 2,800 yen and random cheki-style cards at 350 yen.
The Akagi 28th Memorial Fukumoto World POP UP STORE will run in Kinshicho, Tokyo from September 19 to October 4, 2026, and in Namba, Osaka from October 17 to 25, 2026. The event features Fukumoto World characters, memorial goods, and limited-quantity advance orders for two types of Nobuyuki Fukumoto-signed reproduction art.
The upcoming anime film Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend has received a new memorial visual and promotional video focusing on the character Ikumi Akagi, voiced by Aya Yamane. The film is scheduled to premiere in Japanese theaters on October 16, 2026. Soichi Masui returns as director, with Masahiro Yokotani handling series composition, Satomi Tamura as character designer, and fox capture plan composing the music. CloverWorks is producing the animation. The film adapts the 15th and final main volume of Hajime Kamoshida and Keji Mizoguchi's light novel series, which Yen Press describes as Sakuta's final confrontation with Adolescence Syndrome. The cast includes Kaito Ishikawa as Sakuta Azusagawa, Asami Seto as Mai Sakurajima, and Sora Amamiya as Uzuki Hirokawa, among others. The announcement coincided with a TV rebroadcast of the series. A second short story collection for the light novel is set for release in Japan on October 9, 2026, a week before the film opens.
