NHK has scheduled the BS broadcast of Akuma no Temari Uta, the fifth entry in its Kindaichi Kosuke series, for two parts: November 28 and December 5, each running from 9:00 to 10:29 p.m. Hidetaka Yoshioka plays the detective Kindaichi Kosuke, and Rie Miyazawa plays Aoi Rika, the proprietress of the Kame no Yu hot spring inn in Onikube Village whose husband was killed 23 years earlier. The story follows Kindaichi to Okayama, where young women in the village are killed and their bodies decorated in ways that echo a local temari song. Yasuko Kobayashi wrote the screenplay, and Teruyuki Yoshida directed. The drama aired ahead of time on BS Premium 4K in March. Scene photos released with the announcement show Miyazawa playing the shamisen, Yoshioka with Inspector Tachibana at the home of Tatara Hoan, and a wake at the Yura family.
