Rebellion's Alien Deathstorm Set for Spring 2027 Release
Rebellion, the studio behind Sniper Elite and Atomfall, announced during the XBOX @ gamescom Broadcast 2026 Day 1 on August 26, 2026 that its first-person sci-fi action horror game Alien Deathstorm will launch in spring 2027. The release window comes roughly six months after the title was first revealed. In the game, players take on the role of a Combat Engineer, a highly trained emergency response specialist sent to an off-world facility where communications have been lost. The player must explore a devastated alien colony overrun by dangerous creatures and uncover what happened while fighting for survival with various firearms and skills. The broadcast included new gameplay footage with commentary from Rebellion's Design Director Ben Fisher, depicting the player confronting waves of aliens inside a colony collapsing under a catastrophic mega-storm. Alien Deathstorm is set for release on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud, and will be available on Game Pass Ultimate from day one. The game draws inspiration from an analog-leaning 1980s sci-fi aesthetic.
