Season 2 of Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian is in production at Doga Kobo under director Hiroshi Haraguchi, with Yuka Yamada on series scripts, and has moved from 2026 to a 2027 premiere. A teaser debuted at KyoMAF, and merchandise tied to the series is scheduled through early 2027.
Kadokawa used KyoMAF to show a teaser for season 2 of Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian, and with it confirmed two things at once: the season has moved to 2027 to improve quality, and Hiroshi Haraguchi now directs at Doga Kobo, replacing Ryota Itoh. Yuka Yamada handles series scripts. The novels stand at 5.5 million copies in circulation worldwide, the scale Kadokawa is now carrying into the adaptation.
The production change is the substantial news. Season 2 had been slated for this year. The delay to 2027 comes with a new director and a returning writer, and the teaser is the first footage shown from the season. Doga Kobo remains the studio.
Merchandise continues on its own schedule, independent of the broadcast. DMM Factory is releasing a 1/6 scale figure of Alisa Mikhailovna Kujo in casual clothes, about 170mm tall at 27,500 yen, set for February 2027. Kadokawa Store opened preorders on September 18, 2026 for a bathrobe-themed lineup: acrylic stands of Alya, Yuki, Masha, Ayano, and Masachika at 1,650 yen each, a can badge box at 2,200 yen, an omamori-style acrylic keychain box at 3,850 yen, and a clear file set. Preorders close October 27, 2026, with release in January 2027.
The manga's third volume centers on jealousy from three sides: Alya envies Yuki's closeness to Masachika, Yuki resents losing her brother's attention, and Masachika admires Alya's passion. The volume pushes the romantic triangle past simple crush dynamics.
