viviON GAMES Launches Cloud Service for PC Games on Smartphone Browsers
viviON launched its game sales service viviON GAMES on August 26, 2026, allowing users to play PC games through a smartphone browser. The service runs games on dedicated servers, so play is not affected by the user's device specifications, and it does not require a dedicated app installation. Unlike a subscription model, viviON GAMES uses a per-title buy-to-own format, letting users purchase only the games they want. Each game includes a free trial period that can be used without user registration, with additional trial time granted upon registration. Registered users have their game data saved on servers, allowing them to continue from where they left off after purchasing. At launch, over 30 titles are available, including Aquarium wa Odoranai Special Edition, Yomawari San, Return to Shironagasu Island, and NKODICE. viviON cites a survey estimating 11.7 million former PC gamers in Japan who stopped playing due to life stage changes, and positions the service as a way to reach them during commutes or spare moments. A launch campaign offers 100 viviON points to users who register and subscribe to the newsletter by September 30, with 10 lottery winners receiving all launch titles as a set. The service will be exhibited at Tokyo Game Show 2026 from September 17.
