AUTOart is taking orders for two 1/18 scale garage diorama sets, Garage Kit Set (Version 1) and Garage Kit Set (Version 2), scheduled for January 2027 at 16,500 yen each including tax. Its 1/18 Project D Toyota Sprinter Trueno (AE86) was displayed and sold at a limited-time Initial D pop-up in Utsunomiya that ran until November 1.
AUTOart's recent activity sits at 1/18 scale. The company is preparing two diorama sets, Garage Kit Set (Version 1) and Garage Kit Set (Version 2), for January 2027 at 16,500 yen each including tax. Each set collects garage parts: a height-adjustable lift, storage shelves, a locker, a work desk and chair, a jack, tires, and small tools including pliers, wrenches, and screwdrivers. The cabinet toolbox has drawers that open and close. Orders are open at authorized retailers.
The garage kits extend AUTOart's 1/18 line from cars to the space around them, so a collector can build a garage scene without sourcing parts from other makers. That follows the company's earlier use of the same scale for a licensed car: the 1/18 Toyota Sprinter Trueno (AE86) in Project D specification, made to mark 30 years since the Initial D manga's serialization began.
The AE86 was displayed and sold at a limited-time Initial D pop-up shop on the first floor of the FKD Interpark store in Utsunomiya, Tochigi, which ran until November 1. The shop set the model beside a real AE86 and also carried licensed goods, apparel, and car accessories. Between the two stories, AUTOart's 1/18 output covers a licensed manga car and generic garage accessories, with the diorama sets dated for January 2027 and the pop-up already closed.
