Bandai Namco Filmworks announced at Anime NYC 2026 that the Fool Night anime will stream worldwide on Netflix starting November 26, with all episodes released at once. The series is the first collaboration between Sunrise and Shaft, directed by Atsuyuki Yukawa, who previously worked as a unit director on Suzume. The second teaser trailer and new cast were revealed alongside the date. Junya Enoki voices Akira Yatsuki, deputy head of the personnel department at the Fourth Tenka Institute; Aya Endo voices Saeko Kano, a former soldier and Akira's bodyguard; and Kiyomitsu Mizuuchi voices Jin Hiragishi, head of the 'Nashi Division' who hires protagonist Toshiro Kamiya. Previously announced cast includes Kouki Uchiyama as Toshiro Kamiya and Minako Kotobuki as Yomiko Horai. The staff includes series composer Jin Tanaka of Oshi no Ko, character designer Robert Sato, sound director Yota Tsuruoka, and music composer Tatsuya Kato of Dr. Stone. The manga by Kasumi Yasuda has been serialized in Shogakukan's Big Comic Superior since November 2020, with 13 volumes released.

Capcom has started a nine-part character introduction video series for Onimusha Way of the Sword, its upcoming sword action game set for release on September 4. The series, titled Onimusha Kirokucho, opened on August 17 with a video focusing on protagonist Miyamoto Musashi, voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya. The narrator for the series is the Oni no Kajin, a spirit residing in Musashi's demon gauntlet, voiced by Aya Endo. The first video shows Musashi as a martial artist who comes to Kyoto to master the way of the sword, with his fate changed by demonic power. Capcom has scheduled subsequent videos: Sasaki Ganryu on August 19, Rashogan on August 21, Shuten Doji on August 25, Daisuibara on August 27, and Dokyo on September 1. Characters for August 31, September 2, and September 3 will be announced later. The game is the first new Onimusha entry in over 20 years, set in early Edo-period Kyoto overrun by Genma. A demo is available, featuring the Kiyomizu-dera stage and battles against Sasaki Ganryu.

The staff for the television anime adaptation of Kureha's light novel series The Ogre's Bride revealed three additional cast members in a new trailer on Saturday. Taito Ban will voice Takamichi Araki, Nobunaga Shimazaki will voice Ouga Kiyama, and Aya Endo will voice Sakurako Kiyama. The anime is scheduled to premiere in Japan in July 2026. The previously announced cast includes Saori Hayami as Yuzu Shinonome, Yuichiro Umehara as Reiya Kiryuin, and others. Kazuhito Omiya is directing the series at Colored Pencil Animation Japan, with Yumi Kamakura handling series scripts and Hikari Tanaka designing characters. The light novel series began on Starts Publishing's Novema! platform in 2019 and has nine volumes as of May 2024. A manga adaptation by Jun Togashi launched in December 2021. The light novel and manga together have over 5.8 million copies in circulation. A live-action film adaptation opened in Japanese theaters on March 27.
