King Records Streams 7 Tatsuo Sato Works on YouTube as Memorial

King Records announced on July 6 that seven representative works directed by Tatsuo Sato will be streamed for a limited time on the KING AMUSEMENT CREATIVE official YouTube channel, as a tribute project following the director's death on April 24, 2026, at age 61 from liver failure. The streaming runs from 20:00 on July 7 to 19:59 on July 14, about one week. July 7 is Sato's birthday; he was born in 1964. The lineup includes the sci-fi robot romantic comedy "Martian Successor Nadesico" (1996), its theatrical sequel "The Prince of Darkness" (1998), "Muryo the School War" (2001), "Nekojiru-so" (also known as "Cat Soup," 2001), "Stellvia of the Universe" (2003), "Bodacious Space Pirates" (2012), and its film "Abyss of Hyperspace" (2014). King Records stated the project aims to let viewers remember the legacy Sato left in animation. The company also noted that Sato made his TV series directorial debut with "Fly! Isami" in 1995 and worked on titles including "Lagrange: The Flower of Rin-ne" and "Atom: The Beginning."
