Chinese marketing analysis firm DataEye reports that 89 of the top 100 anime and dramas on Douyin in May 2026 were AI-produced. The China Netcasting Services Association counted roughly 128,000 short dramas released in China in the first quarter of 2026, with 95% generated by AI. ByteDance's video-generating models, including Seedance 2.5, are driving the surge.
