Kadokawa released a new teaser and key visual for the sequel movie Shiboyugi Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table 44: Cloudy Beach. The film continues the anime adaptation of Yuushi Ukai's light novel. Chiyuki Miura and the rest of the original cast will reprise their roles. The movie opens in Japanese theaters on July 10.
The staff of the SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table 44: Cloudy Beach anime film released a new promotional video and an updated visual on Sunday. The film is a direct continuation of the television series, which debuted on January 7, 2026. It follows protagonist Yuuki as she participates in a death game called "Cloudy Beach" on a remote island with seven other players, one of whom she knows. The movie will have a limited two-week theatrical run in Japan starting July 10, 2026. Chiyuki Miura returns as Yuuki, joined by cast members including Yume Miyamoto as Airi, Anna Nagase as Essei, Yukari Tamura as Koyomi, Konomi Inagaki as Hizumi, Aino Shimada as Maguma, Riko Akechi as Mitsuba, and Hikaru Tono as Mozuku. The film brings back the television series' staff: director Sota Ueno at Studio DEEN, series composer Rintaro Ikeda, and character designer Eri Osada. An official guidebook for the series is also scheduled for release on July 24 in Japan.
