Cozy Country Launches on Steam with Japanese Support and Launch Sale

The indie developer Protopop released the casual world-building simulation Cozy Country on Steam on September 1, 2026. The game lets players create a medieval-style pastoral world, placing forests, rivers, villages, animals, weather, and time of day. A scatter brush draws an entire forest in one stroke, and rivers flow along terrain, becoming waterfalls when they drop off cliffs. Village creation offers a range of buildings plus fences, bridges, and roads. An exploration mode switches to a third-person view so players can stroll through their own world, enter buildings, and watch grazing animals. The game supports Japanese display. It is priced at 905 yen, with a launch sale discounting it 15% to 769 yen through September 16. Protopop also plans iOS and Android versions. The game includes a photo mode, letting players adjust light and composition to capture their favorite scenes.
