James Watkins, director of DC Studios' Clayface, said in a remote interview that the film's Gotham City was built with production designer James Price using real Liverpool streets rather than heavy VFX. Watkins described a corrupt city lit with tungsten and sodium-orange light by cinematographer Rob Hardy, with DC Easter eggs hidden in restaurant names, signage and facility names. Matt Hagen is played by Tom Rhys Harries. The film opens October 30.

The official website for the Hell Mode anime announced on Saturday that the series is getting a third season covering the "S-Rank Dungeon Conquest Arc." Masato Tamagawa returns to direct at Yokohama Animation Lab, with Daishiro Tanimura on series scripts and Kei Tsushima on character designs. The second season ended on Friday. HIDIVE streams the anime as it airs in Japan.

ODDCORE, the roguelike FPS from developer ODDCORP and publishers Scarecrow Arts and Korgi Digital, released its major update Mall 33 on the day the outlets reported it in late September 2026. The update adds the new area Mall 33 and a high-difficulty mode called Roulette. In Roulette, enemy and boss HP is reduced while damage is raised, and special collection, capture, infection, and escape rounds do not appear. A new Star Meter system ties combat performance to an in-game viewer count. Strong play with few mistakes raises viewers, and higher viewer counts raise Subscribers, a currency used to unlock items and cosmetics in Mall 33. The update also adds the ODDPAWS pet shop with eight pet types, other shops for charms, suit textures, and weapon appearances, six new music tracks tied to Track Mods effects, two hidden areas in the main mode, and three global leaderboards. The game remains in early access on PC via Steam.

The third part of the CLAMP 35th anniversary and Good Smile Company 25th anniversary collaboration is a 1/7 scale figure of Sakura Kinomoto from Cardcaptor Sakura, drawn specially for the item. Sculpted and painted by Takayuki Kawahara with coloring by Kawahara and Iwabitsu, it stands about 500mm tall including a light-up base and is scheduled for release in January 2028 at 59,800 yen.

At Tokyo Game Show 2026, which opened September 17, a 4Gamer writer found Greed & Darkness at the EdCorp booth. The game is a first-person grid-based 3D dungeon crawler built around a light mechanic and directional real-time sword combat. Its original version was made by students at Yrgo, a Swedish vocational school, and released free on itch.io. It is now in development for a commercial release with a publisher.

Shogun Showdown and Mindcop are free on the Epic Games Store for one week starting September 18 at 12:00 AM. Claiming either within the window keeps it permanently. Shogun Showdown is a turn-based roguelike with deck-building, pixel art, and a Japanese setting. Mindcop is a non-linear detective game set in Merilyn Crater Camp, where the player has five in-game days to identify a murderer. Only Shogun Showdown supports Japanese.

An original character by illustrator Guko citemer is getting a figure. DCTer will release the 1/7 scale Dragon Princess Knight Hesrion in January 2027, priced at 33,000 yen with tax included. The painted finished product stands about 270mm tall and ships with an acrylic stand. Hesrion is described as the eldest daughter of the Three Demon Dragon Sisters and the strongest dragon warrior of the dragon clan.

Neos has put a demo version of the Windows board and card game Culdcept Begins on Steam as of September 17. The full Steam release is set for Q4 2026 at a price still to be announced. The demo includes tutorial quests, two demo-only quests, online matches with six fixed books, and an in-game card encyclopedia.

A blind box set from Cardcaptor Sakura is up for preorder on Rakuten Books. The Good Smile Company release, Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Sakura Kinomoto Memorial Collection, puts Sakura Kinomoto in six costumes: Catch You Catch Me, Tobira wo Akete, Platinum, Nurse-style, CLEAR, and Rocket Beat. Neos announced that cumulative shipments of Culdcept Begins have passed 100,000 units. The board-and-card game launched on July 16, 2026, as the first new entry in the series in 10 years. Kotobukiya is releasing a 1/7 scale figure of Sakura Kinomoto from "Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card" in her [Seige] costume version. The incident happened on July 26, 2026, in a store while the product was in use. Abnormal noise preceded the fire, which burned the speaker and its surroundings. The television anime adaptation of A Pen, Handcuffs, and a Common-Law Marriage is set to premiere in January 2027, as announced on Friday. King Amusement Creative revealed a teaser promotional video, a teaser visual, and the main cast and staff. Tomoaki Maeno will voice Eiji Kirisame, a forty-year-old detective, and Inori Minase will voice Tsugumi Kuchinashi, a silent high school girl who communicates through doodles on a drawing pad, one of which proposes marriage. Takaaki Ishiyama directs the series at EMT Squared, with Shigeru Murakoshi overseeing series scripts, Miyuki Nakamura designing characters, Hiroto Morishita as sound director, and Kana Hashiguchi composing the music. The source manga, written by Shinichi Sawaragi and illustrated by Tank Gasuyama, began serialization in Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine in December 2022 and has 400,000 copies in circulation. Yen Press licensed the manga in English and released the first volume on March 24.

Solo developer sketbordcat released Horse Magnifier: The Full Horse on August 10 for PC via Steam and itch.io. Galaxy Research says a vulnerability in COLDCARD hardware wallet firmware was exploited in three attack waves after July 30, 2026, stealing about $88.6 million in Bitcoin. Bubblebird Studio released a demo for its sandbox game Sandcastle on PC via Steam. The full version has no release date, but the developer says the wishlist has surpassed 150,000 entries. The week of July 27 to August 2, 2026, sees a slate of major releases across platforms. Leading the lineup is 'Halo: Campaign Evolved', a Unreal Engine 5 remake of the original 2001 campaign, launching July 29 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S at 7,900 yen. It includes 10 original missions plus three new ones, 4-player online co-op with cross-play, and a Campaign Remix mode with randomized modifiers. Neos Corporation released Culdcept Begins, a completely new entry in the Culdcept series, on July 16 for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The game is a prequel set on the continent of Babrashka, where protagonist Kamuru transfers into the Royal Academy Septo Academia to train as a Cepter. It features over 400 types of cards, including creatures, spells, and items, with an improved user interface designed to make the board-and-card game hybrid more accessible. The Switch 2 version supports Share Play for up to four players, allowing local wireless play without all players owning the software. A standard edition is available at 6,380 yen (Switch) or 7,480 yen (Switch 2), while a special edition includes a reprint of the first series title, Culdcept The First, for Switch, plus a soundtrack CD and card book. A Steam release is planned for the fourth quarter of 2026.

The Osaka venue features the Clow Card Arc Black Cat Costume; Nagoya displays the Sakura Card Arc Final Battle Costume.

DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation announced three new animated projects during their first joint presentation at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival on June 25. The slate is led by Joker: Laugh Riot, the studio's first anime series. Yasuhiro Aoki directs the series at Sola Entertainment. The story follows the Joker after Batman is killed, sending him on a violent search for the murderer. The series is set for a worldwide release. Also announced was Absolute Batman, an adult animated adaptation of Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta's bestselling comic. Snyder will serve as showrunner and executive producer, with Dragotta as a producer. The comic has sold over six million copies since its launch. The third project is Krypto, a family-oriented animated series from Chowder and Jellystone! creator C.H. Greenblatt. The series follows Superman's dog as he befriends a group of aspiring neighborhood criminals. The announcements were made during DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation's Annecy showcase.

Studio Wildcard will release the paid upgrade "ARK: Tides of Fortune" alongside the remade "ARK: Genesis Part 1" map on June 25, 2026. The in-game tool "ARK Maker," which lets players create maps and game rules on console alone, is set to launch in late September. The Genesis remake features a greatly expanded ocean area with real-time physics-based water simulation and a new giant octopus creature called the Paleo Octopus.

City Connection began distributing a limited-time Steam demo of Culdcept The First on June 4, 2026. The demo lets players play one stage of Story Mode and one map of Battle Mode against initial characters. Cards obtained in the demo can be carried over to the full Steam version when it releases on July 30. The full game will also launch on Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Culdcept The First is a remake of the original 1997 board game and card game hybrid. Players become Septers who control cards, building a deck of 50 cards from over 300 types. The remake adds quality-of-life features: a Rewind function that lets players rewind time to a checkpoint, Quick Save & Load for pausing and resuming at any time, a Bonus Pack option that increases end-of-match rewards, and a Hand Display that keeps both players' hands visible on screen. The demo includes the Rewind function but not Quick Save & Load. The demo distribution may end without notice, and content may differ from the full version.

Newly drawn "Everyone Travel ver." merchandise for Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card, created in collaboration with Oshi Tabi / JR Tokai, is now available for pre-order.
