Dungeon Antiqua Console Version Released, Sequel Arrives August 20

AMATA Games released the retro-style dungeon exploration RPG 'Dungeon Antiqua' for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on July 30, 2026. Developed by Shiromofu Factory, the game draws inspiration from 1980s and 1990s RPGs, with character graphics influenced by 'Final Fantasy' and systems like harsh battles, class change, and trap identification following 'Wizardry'. Players form a party of five and navigate an underground labyrinth filled with one-way doors and pitfalls. Despite the retro look, the battle pacing is modern and comfortable. The PC version launched in October 2024, and as of writing, Steam user reviews number 373 with 90% recommending it, earning a 'Very Positive' rating. The console version is priced at 1,000 yen on each platform, with launch sales. The game is also available on PC, iOS, and Android. Alongside the console release, AMATA Games announced that the sequel 'Dungeon Antiqua 2' will arrive on the same consoles on August 20. The sequel shifts from an FC-style to an SFC-style presentation, increases the number of dungeons to six, and introduces visible enemies and a job system similar to 'Final Fantasy V'.
