Firefly Wedding is an upcoming TV anime with its premiere set for October 9 on Fuji TV's Noitamina block and a Crunchyroll simulcast. The opening theme is "Period" by Iri, and the ending theme is "Yumegokochi" by TOOBOE.
Firefly Wedding is an adaptation of Oreko Tachibana's manga with Takahiro Kamei directing at david production. Crunchyroll added the title to its streaming slate in June and later confirmed it would stream the series as it airs. Lynx and Koki Uchiyama lead the cast, with Kent Ito and Kenjiro Tsuda joining as Kotaro Ogawa and Mitsueda. The series is set for October 9 on Fuji TV's Noitamina block.
The first episode premiered at Anime Expo 2026 to a packed venue. That preview showed violent content and a yandere lead in a Meiji-era romance, and the response pointed to an audience beyond the usual niche. The episode itself opens with Satoko, eldest daughter of the Kirigaya noble house, who has prepared her whole life for an arranged match. Her weak heart drives suitors away, and on a trip to buy her father a birthday present she is kidnapped by men who intend to execute her at nine o'clock. Her only offer for her life is her hand in marriage. The premiere leans on hostage tropes and heavy trigger warnings rather than the arranged-marriage romance its setup suggests.
The title was among five fall anime screened in Crunchyroll's Anime Nights theatrical program on September 21, ahead of their October premieres. Iri's opening theme "Period" is her first anime theme and launches on November 18. TOOBOE performs the ending theme "Yumegokochi."
