Gakuen Idolmaster is active in both its game and merchandise lines, with the Another P-Idol Liberalization update set for mid-October 2026 and a figure of Fujita Kotone shown at Wonder Festival 2026 Summer.
Gakuen Idolmaster is a series with a mobile and PC game at its center, and recent coverage touches the game, a cafe collaboration, and a figure. The most recent story is a game update: Bandai Namco Entertainment announced on September 28 that Gakuen Idolmaster will add 'Another P-Idol Liberalization' in mid-October, a change that lets any Produce Idol designate an Another Idol's song. An SSR Another Idol Guaranteed Gacha runs from October 9, and little-devil costume idols and Another Idols appear from September 30. The game is available on PC via DMM GAMES, iOS, and Android.
Before that, a real-world collaboration returned. The Gakuen Idolmaster x Chugai Grace Cafe collaboration came back to Shibuya from September 3 through September 27 at the Chugai Grace Cafe Shibuya Modi store, with new menu items themed around classes and individual idols, plus a sweets-version goods lineup. Visitors who order menu items, buy goods, or reserve ahead online receive random bonus cards.
In late July 2026, the series appeared at Wonder Festival 2026 Summer, where the AmiAmi Hobby Camp booth included painted samples of a Gakuen Idolmaster figure of Fujita Kotone. That booth displayed figures from multiple manufacturers and properties, mixing licensed characters with original creations.
Across the three stories, the throughline is a series running in several directions at once: a game update that changes how Another Idol songs are assigned, a recurring cafe event with a new menu and goods, and a figure moving into painted-sample territory. The game update is the only one with a dated release window and a confirmed platform list. The cafe run has fixed dates and a specific store. The figure has only a painted sample on display, with no release details given.
