Gley Lancer: Overdrive, a remake of the 1992 Mega Drive shoot-em-up Gley Lancer, was playable at Tokyo Game Show 2026 at the Nalua Studio booth in the indie game corner. The remake redraws ship and enemy craft animations for the Neo Geo. It keeps the original's control scheme and gunner formations, and adds Overdrive, a bomb-like action that forms an energy field.
Nalua Studio is showing Gley Lancer: Overdrive, a full remake of the 1992 Masaya Mega Drive shooter, at Tokyo Game Show 2026. The booth build runs the original NEOGEO version with three areas playable and no demo footage implemented. Pixel art and animations are redone, the BGM is fully arranged, and a new offense and defense system called Overdrive is added. Release is set for 2027.
Nalua Studio announced Gley Lancer: Overdrive, a Neo Geo remake of the 1992 Mega Drive shooter Gley Lancer, on September 10, 2026. The rebuilt version redraws all graphics, adds a new 8-direction Overdrive system and modes including Score Attack, Boss Rush, Time Attack and Stage Select. It is scheduled for 2027 on Neo Geo AES, Neo Geo MVS, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
