Obsidian Entertainment announced that Grounded 2 will launch early access on PS5 starting August 11, 2026, with cross-play and cross-progression across Xbox, PC, and PS5. Game director Chris Parker detailed the new Buggy mount system, which functions as a combat companion and inventory carrier, and confirmed an amphibious Buggy type coming in the August Into the Abyss update.
room6 and Game Studio announced that the puzzle adventure game UNDERGROUNDED will launch on Steam on July 3, 2026, priced at 2,480 yen. The game follows Scott, a young man in Manhattan whose marriage proposal is rejected. He drops the engagement ring into a gutter and descends into a labyrinth beneath the city that condenses American history and culture. Players explore dungeons themed around the film industry, space development, the Wild West, and more. A cheerful canary companion offers hints when players are stuck. Bosses appear in the depths, and defeating them requires playing retro arcade games that pay homage to 1980s classics. Clearing these games alters the labyrinth and opens paths to victory. Scott also meets other characters who have lost something; helping them recover their lost items changes his own story. A soundtrack with 25 tracks inspired by 1960s and 1980s music will release on the same day for 980 yen, and a bundle set is planned. A demo is currently available on Steam.
Developer room6 announced UNDERGROUNDED, a puzzle adventure for PC where a heartbroken man named Scott searches for a lost ring in a vast sewer labyrinth under Manhattan. The game features light puzzle elements and an in-game Donkey Kong-style action mini-game that affects the main adventure. It is scheduled for a 2026 release on Steam.
Xbox Game Studios announced during Summer Game Fest 2026 on June 6 that the PS5 version of Grounded 2, the open-world survival sequel from Obsidian Entertainment and Eidos-Montréal, will launch on August 11. The game entered early access on PC and Xbox Series X|S in July 2025. A cross-platform update also arrives on August 11.
Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the PlayStation Plus free game lineup for June 2026 on May 27. The three titles are available to subscribers from June 2 through July 6. The lineup includes the cooperative survival adventure Grounded Fully Yoked Edition, the sci-fi shooter Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, and the crossover fighting game Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2. Grounded Fully Yoked Edition is an open-world action game where up to four players, shrunk to the size of ants, survive in a backyard. It includes a major update that added full Japanese voiceovers, a Queen Ant boss, and a New Game+ mode. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is a four-player cooperative PvE shooter developed by Fatshark, set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. A paid DLC adding a Skitarii class is scheduled for June 23. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 is a party fighting game featuring characters from SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Avatar: The Last Airbender, with local and online versus modes and a roguelike single-player campaign. The lineup is for overseas subscribers; the Japanese lineup may differ.
