Hikaru Midorikawa has four newly announced or current voice roles across anime, games, and one convention appearance: Akitora Mutsuki in Showa American Story, Esterler in LV999 no Murabito, Volmaar in Hell Mode Season 2, and an ONE-PUNCH MAN panel at New York Comic Con 2026.
Hikaru Midorikawa's current slate is four announced or running roles across anime and games. The most recent casting is Akitora Mutsuki, a ninja in NEKCOM Entertainment's Showa American Story, a boss the gamescom 2026 demo could not be beaten before time ran out. That game is scheduled for PC and PS5 in 2026 and is published by 4Divinity. The character attacks with shuriken, a sword, and fire, revives into a new phase after his health is depleted, and can trigger a cutscene where a sword stabs into protagonist Choko Chigusa's stomach before exploding.
On the anime side, Midorikawa joined LV999 no Murabito as the demon Esterler for Episode 3, titled 'Lv3 Coexistence of Demons and Humans'; the series released advance cuts, a synopsis, and a web preview, and ran a lottery for autographed color boards and gift cards from July 10 to 17. In May, Hell Mode Season 2 announced him as Volmaar, Sophialohne's guard, among four new cast members. That season is scheduled to premiere in Japan in July 2026 on Tokyo MX, MBS, and BS Nippon Television. Midorikawa also recorded an anniversary message for the Fushigi Yugi Blu-ray BOX, whose three-sided case illustration by Yuu Watase was revealed ahead of its August 26 release.
Coverage also places him at New York Comic Con 2026 at the Javits Center on October 8-11, where he appears for an ONE-PUNCH MAN panel. The same convention lists premieres of Shangri-La Frontier Season 3 and Dragon Ball Super: Beerus.

NEKCOM Entertainment brought a playable demo of Showa American Story to gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany, giving attendees their first hands-on look at the action game set in an alternate late-1980s America that Japan colonized. Denfaminicogamer reporter Soma Umi tested the demo, which offered four elements: combat, town exploration, a camper van, and a boss fight. Players control protagonist Choko Chigusa, voiced by Yoko Hikasa, who battles a gang called the Brave Corps in NEO YOKOHAMA using chained weak and strong attacks, firearms with limited ammo, and weapon-specific finishers that include repeatedly stomping downed enemies. The demo included a boss fight against Akitora Mutsuki, a ninja voiced by Hikaru Midorikawa, who attacks with shuriken, a sword, and fire, revives into a new phase after his health is depleted, and can trigger a cutscene where a sword stabs into Choko's stomach before exploding. The reporter could not defeat Mutsuki before time ran out. Showa American Story, published by 4Divinity, is scheduled for release on PC and PS5 in 2026.
