Into the Wind Gameplay Footage Debuts at Future Games Show
At the Future Games Show at gamescom 2026, held on August 27, developer Bloom & Gloom Games and publisher Three Friends released new gameplay footage for the action adventure game Into the Wind. The game casts players as a delivery person riding Hermes, a self-aware flying bike and airplane hybrid. The footage showed the protagonist departing from a garage, drifting through deliveries to island residents, and transitioning to flight mode to engage sky pirates with a machine gun. According to the Steam store page, Hermes' behavior was tuned over a long period to balance realistic physics with arcade-like controls, allowing for both easy handling and advanced techniques. Delivery mechanics are affected by cargo weight, fuel, weather, wind, road choices, shortcuts, and landing success. Packages range from delicate items to heavy loads that are difficult to carry across slopes. Players earn resources from jobs to upgrade Hermes, unlocking higher-difficulty deliveries. Between deliveries, they can customize the protagonist's and Hermes' appearances and decorate their home or crew base, with placed items granting progression bonuses. The main story involves searching for a missing uncle who disappeared while investigating a mysterious cloud over the island of Santa Rosa, modeled on the Adriatic Sea. Into the Wind is planned for Steam Early Access, with playtesting recruitment underway.
