Baseball Fighting League Man Gets HD Remake After 33 Years

City Connection announced on August 19, 2026, that Baseball Fighting League Man Bases Loaded, an HD remake of the 1993 Irem arcade game Baseball Fighting League Man, will launch on December 10 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. The download version costs 4,180 yen, except for the Xbox Series X|S version at 4,200 yen, while the packaged versions for PS5 and Switch 2 are 5,500 yen and include a first-print bonus. The remake adds Pink, a support character from the original, as a playable character, and introduces a high-difficulty mode called Climax Season with new stages and altered enemy placements. The main Regular Season mode supports up to four-player local co-op. Newly arranged BGM by composer Yosuke Yasui can be switched with the original soundtrack. The packaged version includes the Baseball Fighting Encyclopedia, a set with a soundtrack CD and a fan book containing arcade materials. Pre-orders for the packaged versions began today, and the Steam store page is open. A giveaway campaign on City Connection's official X account runs until September 2, and a livestream is scheduled for tonight at 21:00.

The Greatest Magicmaster's Retirement Plan TV Anime Announced for 2027, Yuto Uemura Stars

A television anime adaptation of Izushiro's light novel series The Greatest Magicmaster's Retirement Plan has been announced for a 2027 premiere. The anime's official website opened on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, revealing a teaser promotional video, teaser visual, lead cast member, and staff. Yuto Uemura will voice protagonist Alus Reigin, the world's strongest magicmaster who seeks retirement but ends up enrolled in a magic academy. Yusuke Suzuki, known for This Monster Wants to Eat Me and Duel Masters Win, is directing the anime at studio HOTLINE. Gigaemon Ichikawa is handling series scripts, Yuki Kitajima is designing characters, and Takatoshi Hamano is the sound director. The light novel series, which began on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2015, has 20 volumes published by Hobby Japan. A prequel manga titled The Greatest Magicmaster's Retirement Plan Zero -The Secret History of the Beginning- is scheduled to launch this winter, drawn by Karu Yoneshiro, who also illustrated the second manga adaptation. J-Novel Club publishes the novels in English.
