A rerun of Kimi to Idol Precure begins on TOKYO MX on October 21 in the Wednesday 19:30 slot, after its characters appeared in the September 18 Detective PreCure film.
Kimi to Idol Precure is the 22nd Precure installment, built on an idol motif. Its protagonist transforms into Cure Idol, and Yoichi Kato, who worked on the idol anime Aikatsu!, is the series composer. The show gives weight to character relationships and daily life rather than story mysteries, and that framing is the backdrop for everything the coverage since September has reported.
The series entered the theatrical side of the franchise through the crossover film Movie Detective PreCure! The Mysterious Garden and the Two Secrets, which opened September 18. A trailer released September 13 and labeled Kimi to Idol and Wonderful put its characters alongside the Wonderful Precure cast and the four Detective Precure leads, and stills that followed showed Cure Idol, Cure Wink, and Cure KyunKyun with Cure Wonderful, Cure Friendly, Cure Nyammy, and Cure Lillian. The film drew 440 million yen and more than 357,000 admissions in three days, an opening total the coverage calls the highest the PreCure series has recorded. Toei paired the theatrical push with streaming: all three TV series ran back to back on ABEMA from September 18 at 19:00.
The television side returns with a TOKYO MX rerun starting October 21 in the Wednesday 19:30 slot previously held by Wonderful Precure. The scheduling places it in the same season as an Aikatsu! encore broadcast on TV Tokyo, and the two shows share a series composer and an audience.

Toei Animation released on September 13 two new trailers and a key visual for its Precure film, opening September 18. The first trailer, labeled Kimi to Idol and Wonderful, shows characters from Kimi to Idol Precure and Wonderful Precure joining the four Detective Precure leads. The sequel series is set in 1999, and the previous two series have their own time settings, so the crossover's plot mechanics were unclear before the footage. In the trailer, Komugi Inukai runs ahead while dragging along Iroha Inukai, and the two series' characters speak. The second trailer, This Is A Detective, follows the four Detective Precure leads refusing to give up on a difficult mystery, including Anna Akechi's line that they will not give up. The same footage shows Jet-senpai taunting them. Toei also announced that all three TV series will stream back to back on ABEMA starting September 18 at 19:00.
