Luminous Box is taking orders for a 1/7 scale figure of Cocoa from Is the Order a Rabbit?, based on a dress illustration Koi drew for the Gochiusa exhibition. The figure stands about 212mm tall, includes a dedicated base, and is priced at 26,100 yen with a May 31, 2027 release date.
viviON will hold a goods fair for the TV anime Kimi to, Mienai Koi wo Shita. at 174 GEO stores nationwide from August 21 to September 24, 2026. Newly drawn illustrations of heroine Koharu Fuyutsuki appear on acrylic stands, keychains, badges, and more. Mail order via viviON BLUE runs September 7 to 30.
Haruto Hino will launch a new manga titled Mizuki no Koibito (Mizuki's Lover) on Shogakukan's Manga ONE service on August 30. The story follows two famous former child actors, Mii-chan and Kei-kun, who become lovers. Hino previously wrote Takunomi., which ran on Manga ONE from August 2015 to June 2018 and inspired a 12-episode anime in January 2018.
The original television anime Vertex Force, directed by Strike Witches and Vividred Operation creator Kazuhiro Takamura, will premiere on October 3 at 11:30 p.m. on Tokyo MX, BS11, Gunma TV, and Tochigi TV, with streaming on U-NEXT and other services in Japan. The announcement came on July 24 via the anime's official website, which also released a main promotional video, key visual, and the full main cast. Makoto Koichi voices protagonist Akira Todo, a 13-year-old middle school student living in Okinawa who feels inferior for lacking the "Engine" power his older sister Haruka inherited from their father. Kaede Hondo plays Haruka Todo, a cheerful 16-year-old high school girl who hides her power. Ami Koshimizu voices Eleanor Northbrook, an 18-year-old from the United States; Megumi Han plays Lala Zudenstein, a 16-year-old from Switzerland; and Rie Takahashi voices Yoko Nishina, a 16-year-old from Hokkaido. The story follows Akira and his family as strange events begin occurring worldwide, with unidentified enemies approaching. Takamura is directing at SMDE, with Gorō Kuji as assistant director. Kanetake Ebikawa handles engine design, and JNTHED handles ENIA design.
The TV anime 'I Want to Love You Until You Die' has released a preview and two episode posters for episode 3, titled 'Friends.' A three-volume Blu-ray release will begin October 28. A special fan distribution event at AKIHABARA GAMERS on August 8 and the second web radio episode on July 24 were also announced.
Kodansha released 'Hamukoi - Hamster ni Tensei Shita Boku to Sanshimai no Amaama na Hibi' on July 17 for PC via Steam and Epic Game Store. The live-action romance sim places the player as a hamster pampered by three sisters, played by gravure idols. The game faced multiple Steam bans before release, which developers discussed in an interview with Automaton.
Kodansha's Morning magazine announced that Shū Okimoto and Koichi Suzuki's manga 'Vote Counter Victoria' (Hyōyomi no Victoria) will conclude in two chapters. The series, which launched in June 2024, follows an election consultant and a new politician challenging a long-serving mayor. The seventh compiled volume ships on July 22. Real-life political consultant Kumiko Suzuka supervised the story.

Koi Shikarubeki ~Mayoiga Kara no Tegami~, a visual novel set in 1972 Japan by Narcissus writer Tōma Kataoka and developer neko neko soft, has launched on Steam. It is the first title from publisher OVERLAP GAMES' new visual novel brand. The story follows a boy who returns to a forbidden shrine and a girl trapped there. The live-action series of Keiko Kinoshita's BL manga 'Koi o Suru Nara Nidome ga Jōtō' (Love is Better the Second Time Around) will return for a second season on September 1. Makoto Hasegawa and Robin Furuya reprise their roles. The new season is an original story set two years after the first season, with the couple living together. Returning and new directors, a composer, and an LGBTQ advisor are attached.
Director Takushi Koide appeared at Anime Expo 2026 after a screening of the first episode of his original anime Goodbye, Lara. The project, five years in the making, uses hand-painted backgrounds and thick-lined character designs to evoke 1990s anime aesthetics. Koide worked with Studio Pablo for the hand-drawn backgrounds and emphasized traditional methods over 3D-CG or AI-assisted art.
A pop up shop for the Dengeki Bunko light novel series Adachi and Shimamura and Even Replicas Fall in Love opened at Yurakucho Marui on June 20, 2026. The shop sells new goods featuring bunkobon cover illustrations by original illustrator raemz, and an autographed illustration board is on display. Toei's official YouTube channel, Toei Tokusatsu YouTube Official, has surpassed 2 million subscribers. To mark the milestone, the channel will stream five classic tokusatsu films for free as premium premieres starting July 4. The lineup includes "Kamen Rider vs. Shocker," "Himitsu Sentai Gorenger: Bomb Hurricane," "Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger vs. Goseiger: Super Sentai 199 Hero Great Battle," "Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger: The Fire Mountain Roars," and "Heisei Kamen Rider 20th Anniversary: Kamen Rider Heisei Generations FOREVER." Each film will be available for about two weeks from its premiere date. The channel will also premiere two special "Kamen Rider x Super Sentai" videos on June 27 at 19:00, directed and composed by Koichi Sakamoto. The "Drama Ver." features suit actor Seiji Takaiwa, his son Taisei Takaiwa, and Ruka Shibata, while the "Music Ver." is an archive-footage montage. The channel launched in 2011.
Mikase Hayashi's Soredemo Otōto wa Koishitagaru manga will receive a 47-page epilogue chapter in the next issue of Hakusensha's LaLa magazine on July 24. The chapter is set three years after the main story's ending, which concluded on May 22. The series, which launched in February 2022, follows step-siblings Nao and Rihito.
The romantic comedy manga "How to Make a Girl in Love" (Koisuru (Otome) no Tsukurikata) by Bansei Azusa is getting a TV anime adaptation. The series, serialized on comic POOL, follows a cosmetics-loving high school boy who applies makeup to his childhood friend. It has surpassed 600,000 copies in print and won top awards in web manga polls. An official X account has launched for updates.
MAPPA is producing the television anime adaptation of Coco Uzuki's manga Koi seyo Mayakashi Tenshi-domo, with a teaser visual and teaser PV released on June 19 during the MAPPA 15th Anniversary Lineup Presentation. The romantic comedy follows Otogi Katsura, a student known as the perfect beautiful girl who hides her true self, and Toki Ninomae, a seemingly perfect classmate who also conceals his real nature. After Toki discovers Otogi's hidden side, the two form a secret accomplice relationship. The manga has been serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Dessert since 2023 and has cumulative circulation exceeding 2.25 million copies. The anime is scheduled to air in 2027. Director Yasutomo Okamoto leads the staff, with Mariko Oka handling character design and Yohei Yamazaki writing the series composition. Additional staff includes art director Takumi Hashimoto, color designer Kana Tanabe, photography director Shunsuke Taniguchi, editor Ayumu Takahashi, and animation producer Yuriko Waki. The teaser PV includes Otogi's character voice for the first time.
Director Koichi Sakamoto, who has made numerous original tokusatsu works for Toei's streaming service TTFC, said in an interview marking the service's 10th anniversary that he wants to produce a sequel to the 2017-2018 crossover series Space Squad. The television anime adaptation of Amara's light novel series The Cat and the Dragon has announced its July 4 premiere date, along with a first promotional video and three additional cast members. The series will debut on Tokyo MX on July 4 at 9:00 p.m. JST, followed by broadcasts on BS NTV, Yomiuri TV, Nagasaki Culture Broadcasting, and AT-X throughout the following week. The newly announced cast includes Yu Serizawa as Haneko, a well-behaved cat who assists a prince struggling with magic; Makoto Koichi as the kind-hearted prince; and Kazuya Ichijo as the king, who must negotiate with the dragon. The television anime adaptation of Ayune Araragi's manga Isshiki-san wa Koi o Shiritai (Ms. Isshiki Wants to Know About Love) has received a teaser trailer that announces its main cast, additional staff, and a January 2027 broadcast window. The teaser, released on May 22, 2026, confirms that Riko Akechi will voice the protagonist Isshiki Rinna Milford, an elite police inspector who has never experienced romantic love. Shuichiro Umeda will play Meishi Rokutanda, a kind but scatterbrained detective who becomes her pseudo-boyfriend. Kazuya Komai is directing the series at studio Sakura Create.
