Good Smile Company is adding Momonga from Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom Movie to its POP UP PARADE SP figure line. The painted plastic finished figure stands about 270mm tall, includes a rocky terrain base, and uses metallic paint and weathering on the armor and great swords. It releases in April 2027 for 15,800 yen.
The music video for Noa's new song "L and R," starring actor Reo Matsumoto, releases August 25. Matsumoto takes the lead role, embodying the song's world on screen. "L and R" is a turning-point song for Noa, released digitally August 12, known for "Zenhoko Bishojo," which has recorded over 1.9 billion total views on TikTok.
Toei Animation and Studio51's visual novel Expelled from Paradise -The Stellar Angel- launches November 26 on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, with an English release and English and Japanese support. Toei describes it as a sequel depicting the aftermath of the theatrical anime. A feature-length film sequel, Kokoro no Resonance, opens in Japan on November 13.
Sega and Colorful Palette released the full-size 2DMV for Hide and Seek Sekai Ver. on the official Project Sekai YouTube channel on August 21, 2026. DMM TV announced three new cast members for the second season of the live-action Happy Kanako's Killer Life series on Friday. Hikaru Takahashi plays Nana, Aoi Morikawa plays Ado, and Sayu Suzukawa plays Yui, all assassin colleagues of Kanako. Non and Taisuke Fujigaya reprise their lead roles, and Tsutomu Hanabusa returns to direct and co-write the scripts.
Kana announced at Anime NYC on Friday that it licensed six manga titles for English release through 2027. The slate includes Children of the Afterlife, Happy at Home, Good Morning Leon, Why We Fall in Love, Pumpkin Night, and Soon the Fog Clears. Release dates span from May to November 2027.
The Magical Girl Raising Project Restart anime will debut on October 5. It airs on TV Tokyo late at night at 2:00 a.m. (effectively October 6), then on AT-X and BS Fuji on October 7. Director Hiroyuki Hashimoto and scriptwriter Takao Yoshioka return from the first anime, with Synergy SP replacing Lerche as the animation studio.

Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment will release The Irregular at Magic High School THE MOVIE - Yotsuba Succession Arc - in theaters across the United States and Canada on November 1, 3, and 4, 2026. The film will screen with Japanese audio and English subtitles, as well as an English dub. It is the second theatrical entry in the franchise and continues the story after the third TV season, which aired in 2024. The story, set in 2096, follows Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba as they attend the Yotsuba Clan's New Year's Banquet, where the next clan head will be announced. Miyuki faces the possibility of being selected as successor, a role that would require her to marry and could change her relationship with Tatsuya, while also potentially granting her authority to alter Tatsuya's status as a Guardian. Jimmy Stone directed the film at 8-Bit, with music by Taku Iwasaki. Returning cast members include Yuichi Nakamura as Tatsuya, Saori Hayami as Miyuki, Chiwa Saito as Maya Yotsuba, and Emiri Kato as Fumiya Kuroba. New cast members include Daisuke Ono as Katsushige Shibata and Ai Kayano as Yuuka Tsukuba. The film opened in Japan on May 8 after a Tokyo premiere on April 28.
The second season of the television anime based on Nana Mikoshiba's The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World light novel series will premiere on TBS on October 8 at 1:23 a.m., followed by an October 9 airing at 11:00 p.m. The announcement came from the anime's official website on Thursday, which also revealed the theme song performers and a new key visual. Sizuk will perform the opening theme "Diamond Dust," and Maaya Uchida will perform the ending theme "Compression:[". Both artists previously contributed theme songs to the first season. Crunchyroll will stream the anime as it airs. Masahiro Takata returns to direct, write, and oversee scripts, and serve as sound director. Zero-G is now animating the series, replacing Cloud Hearts, which animated the first season. Mariko Kawamoto takes over as character designer from Makoto Shimojima. The returning cast includes Junya Enoki as Ray White, Iori Saeki as Amelia Ros, Akira Sekine as Ariane Olgren, and others. Miyu Kubota will voice Elisa Griffith, replacing Nana Harumura, who retired from voice acting in January due to health reasons. The first season premiered in January 2023.
Kakao Entertainment announced on August 18 that views for the original A Bona Fide Killer webtoon increased tenfold following the premiere of its MBC television series adaptation. Views on Kakao Page and Kakao Webtoon rose 10 times when comparing the week before the show's premiere (July 20-26) with the period of August 3-9. The series debuted on July 31.
FREEing is releasing a 1/4 scale figure of Lupusregina Beta from Overlord in a bunny girl outfit. The figure stands about 295mm tall and 320mm long, features fabric fishnet tights, and is available for reservation on Amazon.co.jp for 44,000 yen. It is scheduled for release on April 30, 2027.
4Gamer.net reports the new game Rakuen Tsuihou -The Stellar Angel- will release on November 25, 2026, for PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch. It is a visual novel set after the theatrical anime Expelled from Paradise, featuring Angela Balzac and a choice system between KIZUNA and KAKUGO paths. The scenario is by Shotaro Teshimogori.

Darkmatter Games released the main trailer for its open-world samurai simulation Warlord: Awaji and set a September 10 launch date. The game is set on a one-third scale recreation of Awaji Island during the 14th-century Nanboku-cho period, with historians consulted for authentic armor, weapons, and architecture.
Bandai Candy announced details for the new STAR GALLERY figure series from Detective PreCure! on its official blog on August 19. The series will be available in two versions: a general retail version priced at 2,500 yen each (excluding tax) and a Premium Bandai version, with ordering information scheduled to begin on their respective e-commerce sites from August 20. STAR GALLERY replaces the discontinued Cutie Figure line, which ended due to factors such as the weak yen and rising raw material costs. The new series aims to continue the figure lineup in a different form while significantly improving product specifications. Figures have been enlarged from approximately 100mm to approximately 110mm, and skirts and small accessories that were previously molded in one piece are now divided for finer sculpting. The target age has also changed from 3 years and older to 15 years and older, based on analysis showing many Cutie Figure buyers were at least 15. The first wave includes Cure Answer, Cure Mystic, and Cure Arcana Shadow, while the second wave adds Cure Eclair and Cure Arcana, with both waves releasing simultaneously. The Premium Bandai version adds fine color coding and gold or pearl paint on some parts.
The Ultraman Card Game will release Extra Booster Pack Vol. 1 "Dream UNION" and Extra Deck Vol. 2 "SSSS.GRIDMAN" on December 4, 2026. The cards feature characters from the TV anime SSSS.GRIDMAN, include new illustrations by the anime's creators, and the booster pack randomly contains autograph cards signed by four cast members.

Red Bull Japan announced on August 19, 2026 that it will hold the invitation-only show match "Red Bull Revenge" for "Street Fighter 6" on September 21, the final day of Tokyo Game Show 2026. The event will take place on the event stage in Exhibition Hall 1 of Makuhari Messe, with free spectator seating. The project reenacts famous matches from the history of the "Street Fighter" competitive scene using "Street Fighter 6." Eight top players from Japan and abroad will participate: Big Bird, Bonchan, Tokido, MenaRD, Blaz, Sahara, LeShar, and Kawano. The event consists of four cards, each carrying past grudges and memories of wins and losses. The matchups are Big Bird vs Bonchan, Tokido vs MenaRD, Blaz vs Sahara, and LeShar vs Kawano. The format is first to five wins. The event will also be streamed on YouTube and Twitch. Red Bull Japan describes the event as "four matches to settle the score," with players striving to surpass "themselves from back then."

Thirdwave announced on August 17 that its gaming PC brand GALLERIA will exhibit at Tokyo Game Show 2026, running September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe.
