The Deluxe Edition of Lone Wolf and Cub won Best Presentation in Design at the 2026 Mike Wieringo Comic Book Industry Awards. The anime is streaming on RetroCrush, added as part of a July and August rollout.
The Deluxe Edition of Kazuo Koike and Goseki Kojima's Lone Wolf and Cub took Best Presentation in Design at the 2026 Mike Wieringo Comic Book Industry Awards, announced September 26 at the 26th annual Baltimore Comic-Con. May Hijikuro is credited as the designer. The edition's first volume shipped on December 9. The Wieringo Awards, named for the late artist Mike Wieringo, held their 10th annual ceremony in 2026.
The award is the most recent development for the series. Earlier, the Lone Wolf and Cub anime joined RetroCrush as part of a streaming addition that also brought Hyakusho Kizoku (as Hyakusho Kizoku - The Farmer's Days) and 500000000 Years Button to the library. That group included Urusei Yatsura (1981), Tamala 2010, Angel Cop, and Bubblegum Crisis, with the titles rolling out through July and August.
Coverage has split between the print edition and streaming availability, two different sides of the series. The design award puts the Deluxe Edition's production on the record through an industry award, while RetroCrush's addition keeps the anime in circulation on a streaming service. Neither story addresses the other, so the current picture is two parallel facts: a print edition recognized for its design, and an anime available to stream.
