maimai DX is on the MAGiCAL version, launched September 17, 2026 as an update from CiRCLE PLUS, and is the arcade music game named in King of Performai The 8th, whose online qualifying round runs October 29 to November 23, 2026.
Sega Fave updated the arcade music game maimai DX CiRCLE PLUS to maimai DX MAGiCAL on Thursday, September 17, 2026. The version adds songs including Gohan Tabe Yo and World is Mine CPK! Remix, opens the Nohara Hiroshi Hirumeshi no Ryuugi Chiho, Chou Kaguya-hime! Chiho, and Mahou Oukoku Chiho areas, and runs a song linkage event with CHUNITHM and ONGEKI. The linkage changes what playing the other two games is worth: songs cleared in CHUNITHM or ONGEKI become playable in maimai DX.
MAGiCAL also carries a collaboration with the anime Hiroshi Nohara's Lunch Style, running through November 19. The anime's opening song Gohan Tabe Yo by Mega Shinnosuke joins the POPS & Anime category. A new chihou opens where players earn four characters as tsuaa members: Hiroshi Nohara, Kawaguchi, Haruka Yosugi, and Akitake Takagiri. Two name plates and four frames are part of the collaboration.
After the version launch, maimai DX turns up in King of Performai The 8th, Sega Fave's national tournament for maimai de rakkusu, CHUNITHM, and ONGEKI. Entries opened October 9, 2026. The online qualifying round runs October 29 to November 23 and also runs on the maimai DX and CHUNITHM International versions, so players outside Japan enter the same bracket. The two International finalists are decided by online results alone because the Last Chance Qualifier is domestic only. The finals are February 14, 2027 at Tokyo International Forum Hall B7.
