Gley Lancer Remake Overdrive Playable At TGS2026

Nalua Studio is showing Gley Lancer: Overdrive, a full remake of the 1992 Masaya Mega Drive shooter, at Tokyo Game Show 2026. The booth build runs the original NEOGEO version with three areas playable and no demo footage implemented. Pixel art and animations are redone, the BGM is fully arranged, and a new offense and defense system called Overdrive is added. Release is set for 2027.

Animaroid Girl Director Explains Why the Raising Game Has No Correct Answer

Animaroid Girl, a raising adventure about a girl undergoing anima-ization into a beastfolk, is at Tokyo Game Show 2026, running September 17 to 21. Director Masaya Kuninaga said the game deliberately withholds a correct answer so players choose by their own feelings and accept the result. The player is both researcher and guardian, spending one year with the girl in Kowloonoid City, modeled on Hong Kong's Kowloon Walled City.

Overgeared Anime Sets October 2 Premiere, Adds Cast and Theme Songs

The Overgeared anime will premiere on Tokyo MX and BS11 on October 2 at 11:30 p.m. JST. The second promotional video previews the opening theme "SATISFY" by Re:name and the ending theme "Ray of Emotion" by virtual singer TAO. New cast members include Riho Sugiyama as Jishuka, Masaaki Mizunaka as Toban, Kō Bonkobara as Regas, Masaya Fukunishi as Vantner, Kōhei Amasaki as Pon, and Shunichi Toki as Faker.

Live-Action High School Family: Kokosei Kazoku Film Adds 12 Cast Members

The live-action film adaptation of Ryō Nakama's High School Family: Kokosei Kazoku manga has revealed 12 new cast members. The film will open in Japan on January 8, 2027, delayed from its originally planned fall 2026 release. The cast includes Masaya Kimura, Miyu Honda, Yūka Kageyama, and others.

Amekiri's boys-love manga 'Chotto Mato yo, Harutora-kun' will debut a live-action series on August 13 on MBS and other channels. Masaya Sakuragi stars as Harutora Kurobe and Tsubasa Nakagawa as Sui Kishida. The story follows a bullied high schooler who begins to open up after meeting a new student. Keisuke Shibata and Masayoshi Kishida direct, with LGBTQ supervision by lawyer Mimano Kawamoto.

Manami Iwami, Masaya Fukunishi Join Magilumiere Co. Ltd. Season 2 Cast

Manami Iwami and Masaya Fukunishi have joined the cast of Magilumiere Co. Ltd. Season 2, playing Sakae Tōnomori and Hibiki Yami Mori respectively. A 30-second promo video was released featuring the opening theme "Late Magic" by syudou × Yusei Yagi. The first season will stream free on Jump+ YouTube from June 20. Season 2 premieres Summer 2026.

Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc. Season 2 Adds Cast, Opening Song in New Video

The second season of the Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc. anime revealed a new promotional video, the opening theme "Latte Magic" by syudou × Yūsei Yagi, and two new cast members: Manaka Iwami as Sakae Tōnomori and Masaya Fukunishi as Hibiki Yamimori. The season premieres on NTV on July 4 at 24:55 JST.

Ae! Group Performs Maximum Difficulty Dance in Osomatsu-san Film

The cast of "Osomatsu-san: Jinrui Kuzuka Keikaku!!!!!?" appeared at a first-day stage greeting on June 12 at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya in Tokyo. The live-action film, based on the anime by Fujio Akatsuka, follows the sextuplet Matsuno brothers as they confront a world that has begun praising their lazy lifestyle. Members of Ae! group-Seimei Yoshinori, Masaki Sawa, Ken Kojima, and Masaya Sano-star alongside Takuya Nishimura, Miho Watanabe, Yusuke Onuki, Naenano, and Iori Noguchi. Director Taisuke Kawamura revealed that the choreographer said the sextuplet actors could handle the most difficult dance, so he requested maximum difficulty choreography, which the cast learned in two hours. The actors described the dance as more challenging than Ae! group's own songs and said it took a full day to film, like a music video. Koji Mukai of Snow Man, who played Osomatsu in the 2022 film, appears as "Old Osomatsu" and added ad-libs that raised the cast's morale. The film was postponed by about five months before its release.
