Mashle: Magic and Muscles Live-Action Film Set for March 19, 2027
A live-action film of Hajime Komoto's Mashle: Magic and Muscles manga will open in Japan on March 19, 2027. Warner Bros. and Fuji TV are overseeing the project, CREDEUS is producing, and Toho will distribute. Mackenyu plays Mash Burnedead, the magicless protagonist who relies on physical strength, with Yuichi Fukuda directing. The casting and teaser video arrived on November 5, two days after the initial March 19 announcement on November 3. Fukuda said he offered Mackenyu the role about five seconds after receiving permission to adapt the manga, and Mackenyu said he spent around three years building his physique for the part. The manga ran in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump from January 2020 to July 2023, ending at 18 collected volumes. An anime by A-1 Pictures premiered in April 2023 and returns in January 2027 with a third season covering the Tri-Magicathalon Divine Visionary Final Exam Arc.
