Matsuki said on X on Wednesday that they have been hospitalized and need to recover and rest, so the Overlord [Shin] Sekai-hen manga is going on hiatus. The artist started the series in Kadokawa's Comp Ace in April 2024, and Kadokawa published the fourth compiled volume on March 26. The story picks up from the Overlord manga adaptation by Hugin Miyama and Satoshi Oshio.

Ikka Matsuki announced on June 1 that the Nippon Sangoku manga is going on hiatus. Matsuki is recovering from steroid withdrawal syndrome and has been bedridden with a high fever for over two weeks. The manga launched in 2021 on Shogakukan's Manga ONE app and Ura Sunday website. Its seventh volume shipped on April 10. The television anime adaptation began streaming on Amazon Prime Video on April 5.

The anime adaptation of Ikka Matsuki's manga Nippon Sangoku has released preview images and a synopsis for its ninth episode, which is set to premiere on Sunday, May 31. Episode 9, titled "The Frontier Generals Mobilize," follows the aftermath of the decisive battle between Ohga Wajima and Mitsuhide Ryumon, which ended in a strategic victory for Ryumon through the Empty Fort Strategy. Wajima's prestige has been shattered, and he now places his hopes in a plan devised by his trusted strategist, Yayakichi Hei. The episode airs on Prime Video, where the series is streaming weekly worldwide outside Japan. Studio Kafka handles animation production, with Kazuaki Terasawa directing and Takahiko Abiru on character design. The voice cast includes Kensho Ono as Aoteru Misumi, Seto Asami as Saki Higashimachi, Takashi Nagasako as Denki Taira, and Megumi Han as narrator. The series began airing on April 5, 2026, and is co-produced with Amazon MGM Studios.
