Meta announced a new VR headset called the Meta VR Glasses during the keynote of its annual developer event, Meta Connect 2026, on September 23, 2026, US time. The company plans to release the device in spring 2027 worldwide, including Japan. PANORA reports the price as $1,299.99. The headset splits into two parts. The goggle portion is separated from the computer portion, which makes the goggles significantly lighter than a standard unit and easy to wear like a pair of glasses. 4Gamer.net describes the design as high performance with the weight moved off the head.
