The list covers items from now on sale through January 2027, with prices and release dates as of August 3, 2026.
Premium Bandai opened reservations on July 31 at 11:00 for six Gunpla kits scheduled to ship in October 2026. The lineup spans multiple Gundam series and scales, with prices ranging from 2,090 to 5,500 yen. From "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Gekko," the HG 1/144 Ortlinde returns with new molding for its outer armor and Valkyria Double Blade armament. The HG 1/144 Gundam Aerial Permet Score Six, from "The Witch from Mercury," reproduces the blue-glowing chest shell unit with in-mold molding. The HG 1/144 Gundam Lfrith Anavata, from the side story "Vanadis Heart," includes the lightning blade-type Gund-bit "Narukami." The SD lineup features the Tenrei Gundam Musha Reissue Kira Gane Ver. with in-mold Kira Gane parts, and the LEGENDBB Hikoboshi Taishogun with plating and clear lamé. The MG 1/100 Gundam AGE-1 2nd Unit, from "AGE UNKNOWN SOLDIERS," includes a new marking seal designed by Kanetake Ebikawa. All six kits are scheduled for October 2026 shipment.
Bandai Spirits is releasing a special edition of the MGSD Wing Gundam Zero from Mobile Suit Gundam W: Endless Waltz, featuring a new manufacturing technique called Structural Coating. The kit, named MGSD Wing Gundam Zero EW [Structural Coating/Black], changes all outer armor to black and gray molded colors. Internal parts use Structural Coating, a process that creates iridescent colors visible through gaps in the dark armor, similar to the surface of soap bubbles or CDs. The effect varies by viewing angle, and no two kits will have the same finish due to the processing. The wings have a five-layer structure with individual articulation, and when deployed, they expose internal structural coating plating and clear parts with reflection-cut processing. The kit includes a shield, twin buster rifle, and beam saber, and can transform into Neo Bird mode via part replacement. Pre-orders open on Premium Bandai on July 24, 2026, at 12:00 JST. The price is 12,100 yen (tax included), with shipment scheduled for November 2026.
Game Makers Scramble 2026, the real event for game creators, has announced its first wave of 10 talks, featuring speakers from Cygames, Bandai Namco Studios, PlatinumGames, Epic Games Japan, and others. The event will be held August 30 at TOC Ariake Convention Hall, with exhibitions and a consultation corner. For the first time, the event has moved from free entry to a paid ticket system, with early bird discounts available until July 31.
Bandai Spirits released the interim results for the Premium Bandai Gunpla General Election 2026 on July 15. The MG 1/100 Ex-S Gundam/S Gundam (Task Force α Ver.) took first place, followed by the MG 1/100 Gundam Heavy Arms Custom EW and MG 1/100 ν Gundam HWS Ver.Ka. The top kit also won last year's election and saw a re-release pre-order on the same day that sold out immediately. Voting continues until July 23, with final results on July 30.
Premium Bandai will start accepting re-release reservations for two MG 1/100 Gunpla kits on July 17: the Stark Jegan and the Jegan D-Type. The Stark Jegan is priced at 7,920 yen and ships in November 2026, while the Jegan D-Type costs 5,170 yen and ships in December. Production quantities are limited, and orders may close once the allocated number is reached.

Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment, United Artists, and Amazon MGM Studios have acquired the film rights to The Mandela Catalogue, a YouTube analog horror series. Original creator Alex Kister will direct and co-write the script with Tyler Clifton. The series, launched in 2021, follows alien beings called Alternates that impersonate humans in a fictional Wisconsin county.
Bandai Spirits will release three clear color Gunpla kits at The Gundam Base in July 2026. The HG 1/144 Z'Gok (SEED FREEDOM Ver.) [Clear Color] arrives on July 11, priced at 3,630 yen. The kit uses clear outer armor parts that reveal the inner frame modeled after the Infinite Justice Gundam Type II, with metallic molding on joints and backpack. It can reproduce a damaged head armor state and includes red-hot claw parts. On July 18, two more kits launch: the FULL MECHANICS 1/100 Gundam Base Limited Gundam Aerial [Clear Color] for 4,730 yen, featuring clear blue and white armor with metallic joints and a slide mechanism in the legs for kneeling poses; and the MGSD Gundam Base Limited Wing Gundam Zero EW [Clear Color] for 5,280 yen, with clear armor over a metallic inner frame and the ability to reproduce Neo Bird Mode in two forms. The MGSD kit uses a "reflection cut" on internal silver parts visible through the clear outer shell. All three are Gundam Base limited items.
Amazon MGM Studios has withdrawn from distributing the nearly complete biographical film 'Artificial', directed by Luca Guadagnino and centered on OpenAI founder Sam Altman's 2023 firing and rehiring. The move follows Amazon's $50 billion strategic partnership with OpenAI in February 2026. Amazon is working with the production team to find a new distributor.
Paramount Games Studio announced during the Summer Game Fest 2026 livestream on June 5 that PlatinumGames is developing a new game based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic series, titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin. The game is described as an AAA action-adventure title. The story follows a lone surviving Turtle in a future, battle-ravaged New York City on a mission for justice. The comic series debuted in October 2020 and concluded in April 2022. The announcement trailer did not reveal gameplay details or show the usual four brothers, but featured imagery evoking the subtitle, including a sewer setting and a figure with two swords. The game is scheduled for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. This marks PlatinumGames' return to the franchise after developing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan in 2016.
Amazon Games general manager Jeff Gattis told Polygon that future 007 video games will be published by Amazon, following the company's acquisition of creative control over the James Bond IP in 2025. The first game, IO Interactive's '007 First Light', sold 1.5 million copies in 24 hours but was grandfathered under a pre-existing contract, allowing IOI to self-publish it. How IO Interactive will be involved in future sequels has not been disclosed.
Amazon MGM Studios has appointed Buddy Marini as head of its Japan operations, effective March 6. Based in Tokyo, Marini will oversee the development and production of local originals across film, television series, and anime, and work with Amazon's global teams to distribute Japanese content on Prime Video. He reports to Nicole Clemens, who joined Amazon in June 2025 to lead international operations. Marini was most recently managing director of Warner Bros. Discovery Japan, where he led a team of 300 people across streaming, original production, pay-TV networks, and licensing. Earlier in his career, he founded the manga platform Mangamo, served as CEO of Hulu Japan, and managed Avex Asia in Hong Kong. Prime Video's current anime slate includes "Fist of the North Star: Hokuto No Ken," "The Ghost in the Shell," and "From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman." Amazon's APAC chief Gaurav Gandhi said last month the company aims to be "the preferred destination for anime content globally."
Amazon MGM Studios and AWS announced the GenAI Creators' Fund on May 27, a program providing AI tools and funding to creators. Three anime series have been commissioned from the fund: "Cupcake & Friends" by BuzzFeed Studios, "Love, Diana Music Hunters" by Albie Hecht, and "Punky Duck" by Jorge R. Gutierrez. All will be produced using AWS's Project Nara AI platform with human oversight and will premiere on Prime Video.
