Noriyoshi Ohrai

Noriyoshi Ohrai's Godzilla poster work is being sold twice over in the current Bandai Spirits and Premium Bandai lineup, in two different formats and at very different prices. The earlier of the two, announced for reservations on September 3, 2026, is a Chogokin Tamashii Mix reissue of the Mechagodzilla (Noriyoshi Ohrai Poster Ver.), which changes the subdued silver of the earlier version to a bluish glossy silver. The same announcement covers an S.H.MonsterArts Godzilla (Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla Poster Coloring Ver.) figure under the Movie Graphic Plus label, sculpted by Yuji Sakai. Both take Ohrai poster art as the source of the product rather than the film suit.

The larger project followed at the end of September. Premium Bandai opened preorders at noon on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 through the Marpy Garage Online Store for a Legacy Art statue of Ohrai's poster for Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, the 1991 Heisei film. The statue is roughly 82 cm tall and about 31.52 kg, painted with Godzilla in dark blue-gray against a gold King Ghidorah, and lit by LED units for the gravity beams and missile emissions. It costs 472,890 yen including tax, with a flat 15,000 yen shipping fee.

Coverage of the statue split on the details that matter to a buyer. One report gives the order window as closing October 28 at 23:00 and shipping as January 2028, and notes that the January 2028 date is later than a 2027 window. Another notes that the set includes swappable heads for both the poster art version and the film suit version, a hedge on which form the buyer wants on the shelf. Across the four stories, the prices, the height, and the light units stay consistent. What has not been settled in any of them is whether the poster-as-product model holds at this price.
