Stranded Deep 2 Announced With Desert River Survival for Steam in 2027
North Beach Games announced Stranded Deep 2 on August 31, 2026, releasing a trailer and opening the Steam store page. The open-world survival game moves the series from the Pacific islands of the 2022 original to a desert wilderness crossed by an endless river. Players gather resources, craft tools, build floating houses they can move downstream, and manage health, hunger, and thirst. The desert supports an ecosystem that follows a real food chain, with crocodiles and hippos as apex predators that hunt each other and the player. Early access on PC via Steam is planned for early 2027, with an early access period of 2 to 3 years. Development is led by Sam Edwards, co-creator of the original Stranded Deep and creative director and CTO at North Beach Games. The original game is 50% off during the PvE Survival Craft Fest currently running on Steam.
