Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia announced Ondeh Ondeh: Kaya's Umami Great Adventure during the Nintendo Direct streamed on September 9, 2026. The game is a rhythm action title developed by Malaysian studio Metronomik, and it is scheduled for release in 2027 on Nintendo Switch 2. The protagonist, Kaya, aims to become a World Builder, a figure who creates worlds. To reach that goal, she travels through islands filled with rhythm, solving mysteries and taking on trials along the way. The central mechanic is a Magic Spoon that gives rhythm to whatever it scoops. Footage shown during the presentation included scenes of the spoon moving giant objects. The game combines rhythm-based play with puzzle-solving, as Kaya uses both timing and insight to overcome the challenges on each island.
