D3 Publisher will bring all seven titles in the Oni: Demon Exorcism Record series to the Nintendo Switch on January 28, 2027. The lineup covers five Game Boy and two Super Famicom games. Capcom began distributing free Monster Hunter Rise collaboration costumes for Onimusha: Way of the Sword on September 7. The DLC adds two outfits: Yo no Kei for Oni no Kajin (Shizuka Gozen), modeled after village receptionist Hinoe, and Yomogi no Mai for Izumo no Okuni, modeled after tea house girl Yomogi. Both costumes change appearance only and carry no combat performance effects. Players equip them through the Hama Kagami menu's Yosooi no Henkou option, which unlocks progressively as the game advances. The DLC requires the base game and is available through digital stores. To mark the collaboration, Capcom published a special three-chapter manga titled Onimusha wa Gekiteki da yo!, following Hinoe and Yomogi as they visit the Kyoto of Onimusha: Way of the Sword. The official website for the Romelia War Chronicle TV anime revealed 14 additional cast members on Friday, September 5. The new additions include Hiromichi Tezuka as Hans and Tomohiro Yamaguchi as Glein, among others. The anime is set to debut in October on Tokyo MX, BS11, Sun TV, and KBS Kyoto.
Kadokawa announced a promotional video, key visual, new cast members, theme song artists, and an October 4 debut for the anime of Hiro Oda's Yowaki MAX Reijo light novel series. Capcom released Onimusha: Way of the Sword on September 4, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. It is the first new mainline entry in the sword-fighting series in about 20 years, following Shin Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams from 2006. The game is set in early Edo period Kyoto, where the demonic Genma have spread miasma, and follows Miyamoto Musashi, modeled on Toshiro Mifune, who gains the Oni Gauntlet and fights the invaders. Combat keeps the series' parry, repel, and Issen counter moves and adds a new Kuzushi Issen against enemies with broken stance. The standard edition costs 8,990 yen, the deluxe edition 9,990 yen, and the premium deluxe edition 10,990 yen, with a CERO Z rating for players 18 and older. Reviews were strong at launch: Metacritic scores at the time of writing were 89 for the Switch 2 version, 86 for PS5, 83 for Xbox Series X, and 82 for PC, with critics praising the combat and questioning the open-world elements. Good Smile Company announced eight new cast members for its original anime Jyuо̄ Mujin Dandivine and revealed the October 7 premiere on Tokyo TV, BS11, Gunma TV, and Tochigi TV. The cast additions include Nao Tōyama, Misaki Kuno, and Katsuyuki Konishi. The story is set 20 years after the robot Dandivine defeated the Aposdoll.
The staff for the TV anime of Sho Kasugai's Millennium Family manga announced that Katsuyuki Konishi will voice Hayden, the eldest Benfield sibling. The anime airs on TBS and other stations, with Rikuya Yasuda starring as protagonist Theo. Masato Jinbo directs at PartsCraft.
Yukino Sonoyama's manga Bless is getting a live-action drama series that will stream worldwide on Amazon Prime Video in spring 2027. Naniwa Danshi idol group member Ryusei Onishi stars as Aia Udagawa, a former model who wants to become a makeup artist. Onishi prepared for the role by visiting SABFA, a hair and makeup school run by Shiseido, to learn professional techniques and mannerisms before filming began. The production has full cooperation from Shiseido, with top hair and makeup artist Ikuko Shindo serving as makeup supervisor. Izuru Kumasaka and Maki Tomita are directing, while Satoko Okazaki and Ichiro Kusuno are writing the scripts. Amazon MGM Studios is presenting the project, and C & I Entertainment is producing. The manga, which debuted in 2022, now runs in Monthly Shonen Sirius. Kodansha will publish the ninth volume on October 8, and the series has more than 1.25 million copies in circulation. A-1 Pictures announced in March that it is producing a 2027 television anime adaptation of the same manga.
Mebius Co., Ltd. announced on August 27 that 'ONI Zero ~Revival~ Reboot' is in development for Nintendo Switch. The title is a reboot of the Japanese-style RPG 'ONI Zero ~Revival~', which originally launched for PlayStation in 2001. A playable demo will be available at the Konami Digital Entertainment partner booth during TOKYO GAME SHOW 2026, which runs from September 17 to 21. Konami's official TGS 2026 exhibition page describes the game as 'A story of those who are not human, advancing without a moment to breathe until the end' and states that it has been 'Optimized to make the game more comfortable to play upon its relaunch.' Creator Takiya Iijima is involved and said on his X account that major information is scheduled for next week, with a special stream planned for his YouTube channel. Separately, a completely new RPG in the ONI series, 'ONI Zero X', is scheduled for release in 2027, having been announced at Tokyo Game Show 2025.
The television anime adaptation of Mochimaru Sakaki's light novel series The World's Strongest Witch has revealed its main promotional video, main visual, and additional cast and staff. The new trailer also previews the opening and ending theme songs. The anime is set to premiere on Tokyo MX, BS11, and TV Aichi on October 7, 2026, and on MBS on October 10, 2026. Yuto Uemura joins the cast as Reinhardt Highwind, the town's gatekeeper. Previously announced cast members include Azusa Tachibana as protagonist Rona Hermit, Fairouz Ai as Erimina, the guild master known as the "Inferno Witch," Honoka Inoue as elf princess Eruna, Kana Hanazawa as guildmaster Aries Tear Bluemoon, and Maria Naganawa as water dragon princess Ruru Ru Rie. Joji Furuta directs the anime at studios Bridge and Aisle, with Shoji Yonemura handling series scripts, Yuki Morimoto designing characters, and Arisa Okehazama composing music. HoneyWorks feat. HaKoniwalily performs the opening theme "Eikyoryoku∞Idol," and Rokudenashi performs the ending theme "Hoshi o Muguru." ASUS JAPAN announced a large lineup of gaming hardware at Gamescom 2026, timed to the 20th anniversary of the Republic of Gamers (ROG) brand. The centerpiece is a set of three 24.5-inch e-sports OLED monitors, led by the ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace with a 720Hz vertical refresh rate. The other two, the ROG Strix OLED XG259QDPG Ace and XG259QDNS Ace, reach 560Hz and 360Hz respectively. The top model uses a tandem WOLED panel, while the others use Samsung Display's RGB stripe QD-OLED. All three are Full HD with DisplayPort 2.1 or 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 connectivity. Hello Kitty from Sanrio is collaborating with Hobonichi Techo 2027, releasing 17 types of planners and stationery items on September 1, 2026 at 11:00 AM. The designs use the popular Hello Kitty Classic style from the 1970s, with poses exclusive to Hobonichi Techo. The Original size (A6) and Cousin size (A5) planner covers feature Kitty playing with or reading her planner, surrounded by ribbons, apples, and her friend Joey. The weeks weekly planner uses a necktie fabric weave to express Hello Kitty's playful poses, such as sitting neatly to read or putting the planner over her face. Seven Seas announced eight new manga licenses during its Anime NYC panel on Friday, including Boys' Love, Girls' Love, and fantasy titles. The slate includes My Lips are Being Targeted, Scarlet Thirst, Synchronicity Obsession, I Wish it Had Just Been Love, The Duke's Daughter Must Seduce the Demon King... But the Demon King's a Girl?!, Enslaved By My Cats, Goetia Shock, and Witch and Mercenary. Release dates span from June to July 2027.
DMM Pictures revealed a teaser promotional video and the January 2027 debut for Ore to Yu Nii!, the television anime based on Miyuki Nakayama's Shota Oni boys-love manga. Studio Hibari is animating the series, with Noriko Hashimoto directing and Yuniko Ayana overseeing the series scripts. The voice cast features Shinnosuke Tokudome as Tsubaki and Shuichiro Umeda as Yu. The story follows an elementary school boy named Tsubaki and his high school childhood friend Yu, whom Tsubaki loves but who treats him like a child. Nakayama debuted the manga in September 2021 on the Comic CMOA website as part of the launch for Square Enix's boys-love label Gangan BLiss. The manga won the Best Next Generation (Newcomer) award at boys-love website Chil-Chil's 13th annual BL Awards in 2022. Square Enix published the manga's seventh volume on March 21.

Capcom has started a nine-part character introduction video series for Onimusha Way of the Sword, its upcoming sword action game set for release on September 4. The series, titled Onimusha Kirokucho, opened on August 17 with a video focusing on protagonist Miyamoto Musashi, voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya. The narrator for the series is the Oni no Kajin, a spirit residing in Musashi's demon gauntlet, voiced by Aya Endo. The first video shows Musashi as a martial artist who comes to Kyoto to master the way of the sword, with his fate changed by demonic power. Capcom has scheduled subsequent videos: Sasaki Ganryu on August 19, Rashogan on August 21, Shuten Doji on August 25, Daisuibara on August 27, and Dokyo on September 1.
