Pocket is a name shared by multiple unrelated products: a new AI social app from Meta, DJI's Osmo Pocket 4P gimbal camera, Ayaneo's Pocket MICRO 2 and Konkr Pocket Fit handhelds, and Key's Summer Pockets visual novel franchise. Each has its own recent news.
Meta released a social app called Pocket on Google Play in early July 2026. The app lets users create, share, and discover AI-generated interactive items called Gizmos. It requires a Meta account and uses interactions to improve Meta's AI. The app was not yet downloadable at launch.
DJI announced the Osmo Pocket 4P, a dual-lens gimbal camera with a wide-angle and medium telephoto camera. The standard combo costs 99,000 yen, and the Vlog combo costs 113,300 yen. The camera has a 1-inch CMOS sensor, 17-stop dynamic range, D-Log2 recording, 12x zoom, and 103GB of internal storage. DJI had previously shown a prototype and opened its Shenzhen headquarters to media for a technical briefing.
Ayaneo announced the Pocket MICRO 2, a Game Boy Micro-style Android handheld with a Snapdragon 865-class processor, a 3.5-inch 960x640 LCD screen, Android 13, and a starting price of $239. Separately, Ayaneo's Konkr Pocket Fit now ships with a Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and Android 16, priced at 128,000 yen at PC One in Osaka Nipponbashi.
Key's visual novel Summer Pockets received a manga adaptation titled 'Summer Pockets: Natsu no Takaramono,' with volume 1 released on June 18. The obi carries a comment from Shiroha's voice actress Konomi Kohara. Key also ran a Steam Summer Sale 2026 promotion on 17 titles including Summer Pockets, with discounts up to 65% off until July 10.
