Ragnarok Project Announced for 2027 Release on Switch 2, PS, Xbox, and PC
GRAVITY and DAEWON MEDIA announced RAGNAROK PROJECT, a new RPG based on the world of the Ragnarok series, on June 1. Developed by WAYCORDER, the game is targeting a release in the first half of 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. The Steam store page is now live. The story follows players exploring a crumbling world-including deserts, ruins, research facilities, and dimensional rifts-to uncover the hidden truth behind the collapse. The narrative focuses on choice and responsibility, with a clash of beliefs rather than simple good versus evil. Players will journey with companions of different classes: Knight, Mage, Priest, and Hunter. The Ragnarok series, centered on the MMORPG Ragnarok Online, has been played by a cumulative 100 million users globally. WAYCORDER previously developed Gensei Suikoden+ and Astonishia Story Refine. A teaser shows dot-painted character graphics against 3D backgrounds, with the MVP boss Maya appearing at the end.
