Gearbox Software and 2K released Hallowed Concepts, the fourth DLC for Risk of Rain 2, during The Triple-i Initiative 2026 broadcast on October 9. The expansion was announced in April at the same event, with release timing described only as coming soon, and arrived without a separate launch date. It adds eerie new regions of Petrichor V, new enemies and bosses, and two playable survivors: the Acolyte, who mixes close-range sword attacks with long-range attacks, and the Enforcer, a front-line defender. A curse system called Hex brings negative effects; players who endure hexes can obtain holy items. New trials and challenges were added. In a multiplayer lobby, one owner of the DLC makes new monsters, stages, and items appear for everyone, but the new survivors and item unlocks require each player to own it. Hallowed Concepts is available on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The Steam version is priced at 1,520 yen including tax.
Evil Empire announced on September 15, 2026 that the Surprise Edition of the Triple-i Initiative Showcase will stream from 1:00 AM JST on October 9, 2026. The program condenses new information on 40 titles into 45 minutes, with eight world premieres and updates on games already released. It airs on YouTube, Twitch, Bilibili, Niconico Live Broadcasting, and Steam, with co-streaming partners including IGN and content creators. The eight world premieres come from studios including Team17, Amanita Design, Strange Scaffold, and Norsfell. Announcement types span world premieres, gameplay reveals, and release dates. Returning titles in the lineup include Dave the Diver, Brotato, Chained Together, Risk of Rain 2, Windrose, and a new Among Us title, alongside Hela: of Mice and Magic, Militsioner, Pony Island 2: Panda Circus, Haunted Paws, and Outward 2.
