Midori Loves My Sister Manga Gets Live-Action Film Opening December 4
A live-action film adaptation of Amu Meguro's manga Midori Loves My Sister will open in Japanese theaters on December 4. The film, given the English title My Sister's Boyfriend, stars Masaki Hashimoto of the idol group timelesz as Midori Yukishiro and actress Runa Nakajima as Sui Sanae. Mahito Kimura, who previously directed the live-action films Strobe Edge and Blue Spring Ride, is directing. Nami Kikkawa, writer of the Honey Lemon Soda live-action film, is writing the script. Shochiku is handling planning, oversight, and distribution. The original manga follows Sui, a junior high student who does not get along with her older sister's boyfriend Midori, who teases her. When Midori becomes her home tutor, she sees a different side of him. Meguro launched the series in Shueisha's Bessatsu Margaret magazine in 2022. The 11th compiled volume was released on April 23.
