NHK E-TV's "Numa ni Hamatte Kiite Mita" devotes its Saturday, October 31 episode at 20:00 to =LOVE, with producer Rino Sashihara appearing in a VTR segment about the lyrics she writes for the group. At Anime Expo 2026, the Tokyo Revengers panel brought out Yuki Shin (Takemichi), Yuu Hayashi (Mikey), and Masaya Fukunishi (Draken) in Tokyo Manji Gang jackets. The three discussed how their characters evolved across the series. Hayashi said the next season shows a darker Mikey without hesitation, and Shin said Takemichi would find true strength in the upcoming season.

MAYLA has reopened pre-orders for its Puella Magi Madoka Magica Iconic Story Ring Objet set, priced at 18,700 yen with shipping at 600 yen. Nalua Studio is showing Gley Lancer: Overdrive, a full remake of the 1992 Masaya Mega Drive shooter, at Tokyo Game Show 2026. The booth build runs the original NEOGEO version with three areas playable and no demo footage implemented. Pixel art and animations are redone, the BGM is fully arranged, and a new offense and defense system called Overdrive is added. Release is set for 2027.

Animaroid Girl, a raising adventure about a girl undergoing anima-ization into a beastfolk, is at Tokyo Game Show 2026, running September 17 to 21. Director Masaya Kuninaga said the game deliberately withholds a correct answer so players choose by their own feelings and accept the result. The player is both researcher and guardian, spending one year with the girl in Kowloonoid City, modeled on Hong Kong's Kowloon Walled City.

SAYAKA, main vocalist of Be Girls, will release the music video for her second solo single "Love Me" on her official YouTube channel on August 24, 2026 at 21:00. Shot in Korea, the video depicts the song's message of love that comforts nights when you cannot love yourself. SAYAKA co-wrote the lyrics, and the same production team behind her debut single "7 years," which has 460,000 views, returned for this work.

Good Smile Company has announced three new figures in its POP UP PARADE L size series, a line known for scale-figure-level detail and satisfaction. The first is Saya from the visual novel 'Saya no Uta', a long-awaited re-release based on the game's package illustration. She is sculpted in a seated pose with a voluminous design, featuring a fleeting expression and clear parts for her wings. Saya is priced at 8,800 yen and is scheduled for release in January 2027. Also announced is Dorothy Haze from 'VA-11 HALL-A', a girl-type android and regular at the game's bar. Her figure stands approximately 220mm tall and exposes mechanical structures at the joints, a charm noted by the sources. Both a normal color and an Another Skin Ver. with white skin will be released in March 2027, each priced at 8,800 yen. Reservations for the Dorothy Haze figures are open until September 23. The third figure is Daiwa Scarlet from 'Uma Musume Pretty Derby', depicted in her race outfit at approximately 225mm tall. She is scheduled for February 2027 release and is priced at 9,800 yen.

The Overgeared anime will premiere on Tokyo MX and BS11 on October 2 at 11:30 p.m. JST. The second promotional video previews the opening theme "SATISFY" by Re:name and the ending theme "Ray of Emotion" by virtual singer TAO. New cast members include Riho Sugiyama as Jishuka, Masaaki Mizunaka as Toban, Kō Bonkobara as Regas, Masaya Fukunishi as Vantner, Kōhei Amasaki as Pon, and Shunichi Toki as Faker.

The live-action film adaptation of Ryō Nakama's High School Family: Kokosei Kazoku manga has revealed 12 new cast members. The film will open in Japan on January 8, 2027, delayed from its originally planned fall 2026 release. The cast includes Masaya Kimura, Miyu Honda, Yūka Kageyama, and others.

Visual Arts announced a new brand, VISUAL ARTS Scripts, and its first title, Sayagatari -Yōtō no Yakusoku-, a visual novel where players fight monsters and receive kisses from a heroine who seals cursed swords. The game launches September 25 on PC, with a Steam version in development. Tomori Kusunoki voices the lead heroine. The download version is priced at 990 yen as a special launch price.

Amekiri's boys-love manga 'Chotto Mato yo, Harutora-kun' will debut a live-action series on August 13 on MBS and other channels. Masaya Sakuragi stars as Harutora Kurobe and Tsubasa Nakagawa as Sui Kishida. The story follows a bullied high schooler who begins to open up after meeting a new student. Keisuke Shibata and Masayoshi Kishida direct, with LGBTQ supervision by lawyer Mimano Kawamoto.

MBS announced an eight-episode live-action series adaptation of Tamifull's How Do We Relationship? manga, premiering September 10. Riho Sayashi and Sakurako Konishi star as Saeko and Miwa. Kana Yamada and Sunhye Hong direct; Miki Matsugasako writes scripts. The manga ended in March 2025.

Contemporary artist isayamax will hold a solo exhibition titled 'MIYABISM KYOTO' at the gallery cafe Art Cafe Itoyufu in Kyoto from July 11 to July 20, 2026. The show presents works that blend traditional Japanese 'Miyabi' elegance with contemporary 'kawaii' pop culture. A limited collaboration with craft brand QUTOTEN. will be sold, and original coasters will be given with drink orders.

TV Asahi announced nine new regular cast members for its Thursday drama 'Dai Kūkō ~GATE24~,' starring Shuri, including Kaoru Okunuki, Sayaka Akimoto, Masaki Kaji, Shion Machida, Riku Kashima, Naoto Nishimura, Haru Tsubakihara, Seiichi Tanabe, and Mitsuru Fukikoshi. The series will also be distributed worldwide on Netflix. It premieres July 23.

The first volume of Sayaka Mogi's new manga "Kuro-neko-sensei to Hotsureta Kanja-tachi" was released as an e-book on June 24, 2026, from Hayakawa Publishing. The dark fantasy follows a quack doctor treating stuffed animals with strange illnesses, including a rabbit with suicidal ideation and an elephant that gave away its button eyes. The obi carries a recommendation by Yosuke Takahashi. Store-specific bonuses include different newly drawn manga.

FURYU's F:NEX brand announced 1/7 scale figures of Kaho Hinoshita, Sayaka Murano, and Rurino Osawa from the Love Live! Hasunosora Girls' Academy School Idol Club movie. Manami Iwami and Masaya Fukunishi have joined the cast of Magilumiere Co. Ltd. Season 2, playing Sakae Tōnomori and Hibiki Yami Mori respectively. The cast of "Osomatsu-san: Jinrui Kuzuka Keikaku!!!!!?" appeared at a first-day stage greeting on June 12 at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya in Tokyo. The live-action film, based on the anime by Fujio Akatsuka, follows the sextuplet Matsuno brothers as they confront a world that has begun praising their lazy lifestyle. Members of Ae! group-Seimei Yoshinori, Masaki Sawa, Ken Kojima, and Masaya Sano-star alongside Takuya Nishimura, Miho Watanabe, Yusuke Onuki, Naenano, and Iori Noguchi. Director Taisuke Kawamura revealed that the choreographer said the sextuplet actors could handle the most difficult dance, so he requested maximum difficulty choreography, which the cast learned in two hours. The actors described the dance as more challenging than Ae! group's own songs and said it took a full day to film, like a music video. Koji Mukai of Snow Man, who played Osomatsu in the 2022 film, appears as "Old Osomatsu" and added ad-libs that raised the cast's morale. The film was postponed by about five months before its release.

SAYAKA launched the official fan club 'SAYAKA Notes' and announced her first solo birthday event 'SAYAKA Notes - Page One -' on July 20, 2026. The self-produced experiential event at TRUNK BY SHOTO GALLERY in Shibuya will feature a keyboard live performance, unreleased songs, talk sessions, and participatory projects. SAYAKA said she wants it to be a day people remember as a special time, not a special event.

Writer Masaya Tsunamoto and artist Demo will launch a new manga titled Shūgaku Ryokō ~Kyoto・Nara 4-paku 4-nichi in Akita Shoten's Bessatsu Shōnen Champion on July 15. The story follows a high school student on a Kyoto school trip who is caught in a supernatural phenomenon.

Animation ID announced on Tuesday that the light anime adaptation of SORAJIMA and Aminohada's webtoon will premiere a second season in October. Saya Fukase directs at IMAGICA Infos and Imageworks Studio, replacing first-season director Chisaki. Returning cast includes Asami Seto, Sōma Saitō, and Momo Asakura.

Hajime Isayama admitted he feels a sense of insincerity about Attack on Titan's ending, explaining that Eren Yeager's global popularity made him unable to fully commit to depicting the character as purely detestable.
