Shadow of the Road Sets November 12 Release Date for PC

Publisher Owlcat Games announced on August 27 that Another Angle Games' turn-based strategy RPG Shadow of the Road will launch on November 12 for PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.com. The game is set in 1868 Japan, split by civil war between the Tokugawa Shogun's faction and Emperor Meiji's supporters backed by the British East Nippon Company. Players guide ronin Satoru and Akira through turn-based combat against steam-powered mechanical soldiers and enemies with modern guns. A demo is available on Steam.

Shadow of the Road Trailer Reveals Yokai and Steampunk Boshin War Setting

Publisher Owlcat Games and developer Another Angle Games released a new trailer for 'Shadow of the Road' on July 14. The turn-based strategy RPG is set in a fictional 1868 Japan where yokai, magic, and steampunk merge. The story is based on the Boshin War, with players as a shogunate soldier facing Emperor Mutsuhito's army backed by the British East Japan Company. The game features turn-based combat against yokai and steampunk machines. It will launch on PC in fall 2026. Japanese language support is not confirmed.
