Shunya Yamashita has two Kotobukiya Bishoujo figures in the pipeline: a Furby design shipping in March 2027 and a reissued Sadako design due in May 2027.
Kotobukiya's Bishoujo line is where Yamashita's work currently sits, and the two most recent announcements show the line applying his designs to very different source material. In July 2026 the company announced a Bishoujo figure of Hasbro's Furby, designed by Yamashita, which depicts the toy as a gal-style character in a fluffy jacket and platform boots with removable sunglasses. A mini Furby with blinking eyes comes in the set. It is priced at 25,300 yen and ships in March 2027.
Three months later, Kotobukiya confirmed a re-release of the HORROR Bishoujo Sadako figure, also from a Yamashita design, with Salle cato handling the sculpt. The 1/7 scale PVC and ABS figure stands about 170mm with its base and floats above a pile of videotapes. Swappable parts give two faces, one hidden behind long black hair and one with her eyes visible, and the set includes a videotape-shaped box with two rolls of decoration tape. It is priced at 19,800 yen for May 2027.
The two releases bracket the range of the line as it currently stands: a horror character with an existing humanoid design and a non-human toy property reworked into a gal-style character. Both carry Yamashita's name as designer, and both are Kotobukiya products with prices and ship dates set well in advance.
